BET’s 15th annual “Hip Hop Awards” will air on October 27th, and the nominees were just announced, with DaBaby leading the noms list with a whopping 12 nods including Hip Hop Album of the Year (where he’s competing against . . . himself. He’s nominated twice!), Hip Hop Artist of the Year, and Hip Hop Lyricist of the Year. He is also double nominated in three other categories. We’re starting to think DaBaby is really DaBest.Right on his heels is Roddy Ricch with 11 nominations, and Drake is tied with Megan Thee Stallion for third with eight noms each. Future comes in with six, Lil Baby nabbed four, and Beyoncé, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott and Mustard each received three. According to BET, DaBaby’s double nomination for Hip Hop Album of the Year marks the first time an artist has had two nominations in that category in the same year. He’s up again Future, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Rich, and Lil Baby in that category, so it will definitely be a race to the finish. But seeing as how DaBaby won Best New Hip Hop Artist last year, and leads the noms this year, we’re gonna hazard a guess that his odds are stacked.[video_embed id='2041288']RELATED: DMegan Thee Stallion, The Weeknd land on Time 100 list[/video_embed]Canada’s (and October’s) very own Drake is nominated in the Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video for “Toosie Slide,” (which, if you remember, was filmed at his Toronto mansion during the height of the pandemic), Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, and Best Live Performer, among other noms.
