Is there anything Gwen Stefani can’t do? She’s a chart-topping pop singer and Grammy winner (whether in a group or solo), she’s proved to be a pretty kick-ass mentor on The Voice, she’s a fashion icon with awards to prove it, and she’s also a mother of three. It’s almost unfair that in her very first foray into country music, she’s managed to climb right back to the top of those charts, which as any country music fan will tell you is a total feat. It’s no wonder Stefani’s beau and collaborator, Blake Shelton, is publicly congratulating her.The couple’s duet, “Nobody But You,” which they performed a couple of months ago at the Grammy Awards, topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart as the No. 1 single on April 27, grabbing more than 80 million on-demand streams. It’s also now spent seven consecutive weeks in the Top 3 US Shazam chart, so basically, it’s a bona fide hit. (Hands up if you saw that one coming after they released the red hot music video for the song.) Shelton, who long ago earned his spot with country music fans, took the opportunity to acknowledge his girlfriend’s success. “Congratulations @gwenstefani on your first country song going #1 at country radio!!!” he wrote. “Not bad for your first try!!!!!” [video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Gwen Stefani never expected 'Hollaback Girl' to turn into a hit[/video_embed]The track is part of Shelton’s latest album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country, which dropped last December. Since then he and Stefani have also released an acoustic version of the love song, which they performed together at Shelton’s final show in Los Angeles earlier this year. It seems like it’s all been a whirlwind for Stefani, who was also in the middle of her Vegas residency show when stay-at-home orders hit as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. She seems to recognize that the song’s success is a pretty big deal, and she’s not taking the fans’ love lightly.“Trying to wrap my head around the fact that I even get to know you Blake Shelton—let alone be on Such a beautiful classic duet w u?! thank you ! for taking me along on this ride with you,” she shared on Twitter following the news. “I am so grateful and blown away by all the support everyone has shown us!!?!!” Meanwhile, Shelton also shared his thanks in an official press release announcing the No. 1 news.“I knew the moment I heard this song that I wanted to record it,” Shelton said, according to People. “Shane McAnally, Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and Tommy Lee James, you wrote a perfect song in which every lyric has meaning in my life, and I thank you. Another thanks goes to the fans who continue to listen—and I know there are a lot of distractions these days—one day soon we can all celebrate music together again.” Of course the singer couldn’t get away without giving some more props to the special lady in his life too. "And finally, thanks to Gwen for joining me and making this one of the most special songs I’ve recorded,” he added. “Congratulations on your first number one country single!”So is this the beginning of more musical collaborations to come? That’s anyone’s guess, but self-isolation does seem like the perfect time for a musical couple to come up with some more noteworthy gems. Or, maybe they’re just watching Tiger King while cutting each other’s hair like the rest of the world. Either way it’s pretty clear from these numbers that fans wouldn’t say no to another magical song from this couple in the very near future.[video_embed id='1943353']BEFORE YOU GO: This teacher's COVID-19 song made our hosts cry with laughter[/video_embed]
