Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallions feud broke the internet overnight

Early this morning, Grammy-award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion dropped her new track “HISS” and it is the song that launched a thousand disses. At least, that’s how the internet and fellow rapper Nicki Minaj is taking it, because there are some lyrics in the track that seem to aim the “Anaconda” rapper.

Megan, who collaborated with Nicki on her mega-hit “Hot Girl Summer” in 2019, raps in “HISS,” “These h**s don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.”

If that went over your head, in the US Megan’s Law is a requirement for all registered sex offenders that their presence in a neighbourhood be known to the public. And Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, is a registered sex offender after he was convicted of attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995.

That didn’t sit well with Nicki, who went on Instagram Live to not only vent, but to take aim at Megan. SHOTS WERE FIRED.

Referencing the 2020 shooting where Megan was shot in the foot by Tory Lanez - for which the Canadian rapper was convicted - Nicki played a snippet of a song, where she raps, “Bad b***h she like six foot, I call her Big Foot/ The b***h fell off, I said get up on your good foot.”

It didn’t end there.

Nicki can then be heard speaking off-camera, while another unknown person laughs, mocking the way that Megan raps and her rapping style. “You have three Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music,” she chides, before doing an impression of Megan’s style.

Megan, for her part, didn’t seem phased by Nicki’s diss, instead sharing a picture of herself on IG Live, laughing so hard she had to cover her mouth.

Not satisfied that she hadn’t gotten on Megan’s nerves, Nicki then posted a picture of her freshly manicured feet, which seemingly is another jab at Megan’s injured foot and her supposed big feet.

This beef has been going on for years, according to reports. In 2022, Megan reportedly told Nicki to get an abortion when Nicki thought she was pregnant and therefore wasn’t drinking, per Hip Hop DX. Nicki said at the time, “Imagine telling someone you didn’t want a drink… you know, because you were, at the time, possibly pregnant, because you were actively trying to have a baby,” she said. “Imagine that person saying, ‘Oh girl, you can go to the clinic!'”

She added: “Imagine posting photos that you’re pregnant… and the person doesn’t even like it or say congratulations. But then, when you post that Beyoncé sent you flowers congratulating you, the person then tries to attempt to send you flowers thinking that, ‘Oh, I could use this opportunity as I use everyone else. She’ll post that I sent her flowers.’

When someone from Nicki’s Barbz fanbase pointed that out to Mega on X (formerly Twitter), Megan called it a lie.

So, based on all of this, we’re guessing the two won’t be collab’ing on “Hot Girl Summer 2” any time soon.
