If you haven't already been vibing with the masterful duo that is Silk Sonic – a.k.a. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak – then you're a little late. But with the pair releasing a perfectly summery video for their new single "Skate" on Friday, this is the time to get into it.

The music video, which feels like a bit of a retro throwback, was directed by Mars, Florent Déchard and Philippe Tayag, and features Mars and .Paak playing their music as some stunning women skate around them. TikTok is living.

Here's a taste of the opening lines (just imagine a little funk behind them): "In a room full of dimes / You would be a hundred dollars / If bein' fine was a crime / Girl, they'd lock your lil' fine ass up in a tower."

This, by the way, is only the second single from Silk Sonic, who have teased their album, An Evening with Silk Sonic, for the better part of this year and have yet to release it. Mars had been teasing for some time that Friday would be the duo's "Summertime Jam." Now if only that meant a whole show.

Needless to say, fans are loving it, with social media dubbing the music video "a whole vibe," and declaring: "I need to find my rollerskates IMMEDIATELY to feel the full effects of this song." Amen.

Silk Sonic dropped their first single, “Leave the Door Open,” in March, and performed it at this year’s BET Awards (where they also won Best Group), which marked only their third award show performance of the song after the Grammys and iHeartRadio Music Awards.

So what do we know about the album – whenever it decides to come out? Well, An Evening with Silk Sonic also features Parliament Funkadelic bassist and funk legend Bootsy Collins as a “special guest host.” He tweeted way back in March, "A Lot of Funked Up Sheet Comin' ur way."

It was also made entirely during quarantine, and came about after the two Grammy winners toured together in 2017 in Europe. According to Pitchfork, they worked on material at Abbey Road with Disclosure and Nile Rodgers that same year, appearing on Chic's album It's About Time in 2018 soon after.

Mars' last solo album was 2016's 24K Magic, while Paak's was Venture in 2019. So it's about time.

Pour it down our throats, if I may say so.
