Iconic singer Dionne Warwick has long known that having someone on your side in good times and bad times is what friends are for, and now she knows that Q&As are what Twitter is for. Since joining the social media platform recently, and quickly becoming everyone's favourite meme and media commentator, she is unofficially the queen of Twitter (and our hearts). So on Monday, Billboard asked Miss Dionne to participate in a fun video Q&A with fans on the platform. When asked if she was down to collaborate and possibly duet with Taylor Swift, you better believe Warwick was all over it. She may be 80, but she’s def got her finger on the pulse of music.

"I absolutely am. I think Taylor has a wonderful voice,” she confirmed in her video answer. “She writes incredible music, and it'd be wonderful of her to write for me something to sing with her. So yes, I would love to sing with Taylor Swift.”

We can’t say we’re surprised this collab is tops on her list – a couple weeks ago when Taylor released her re-recorded version of “Love Story”, Ms. Dionne tweeted it was her favourite Swift song. Give this woman the keys to the Swiftie fan club.

Taylor isn't the only artist Miss Dionne's got opinions on (reviewing music and facilitating collaborations seems to be what she does best on Twitter). Continuing her Q&A sesh, she shared her thoughts on the recent announcement of the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations (of which she is included), and spoiler alert, all of her opinions are the correct one.

"It's about time for some of these ladies who I thought should have been there," she replied in her video answer, referencing the Hall of Fame’s ballot that includes seven women – four of them Black women – on the nomination list.

"How could Tina Turner not be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? I'm thrilled that Chaka Khan [was nominated], who should have been there long time ago and it's wonderful that Mary J. Blige is even nominated!" she continued (Tina Turner's 1991 induction was as part of Ike and Tina Turner, not as a solo artist. Give this icon the recognition she deserves!).

"So yes, I'm thrilled. It's long overdue and it is about time," she added. "I'm very happy to have also been nominated. I sure hope you're voting for me."

But probably our favourite anecdote from the “Walk On By” singer came when a Twitter user asked if another celeb had ever left her star-struck. We were not mentally prepared for her answer.

"Okay I gotta tell you a story. I stalked Sidney Poitier," she laughed. "I was coming from a recording session and happened to be walking on Broadway in New York City and in front of me was walking Sidney Poitier. I cannot tell you how flustered I got. I mean such a gorgeous man you've ever seen in your life, at that time."

She continued, saying that the To Sir, With Love superstar finally, "turned around and said, 'little girl, what do you want?'"

"I was flustered. I couldn't even talk," she giggled. "I finally got out, 'Could you give me your autograph?’ and he did. I still have that autograph, by the way. Subsequently, every time I see Mr. Poitier or Sir Poitier, the first thing he says is, 'Do you want my autograph little girl?'"

That is the high-key adorable. You can see Dionne’s entire Twitter Q&A thread here
