You know what they say… keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Well, it would seem that is precisely what Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are doing. The Hip Hop queens have been rather vocal in their apparent distaste for each other in the past (lest we forget the time Cardi hurled her shoe during New York Fashion Week), but it looks like the two might have finally squashed their beef. And what better way to make amends, then to make music together?

Really, anything can happen in 2020, it would seem.

According to rumours, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are currently working on a collaboration with a song called “Lavish.” While there is no concrete proof (yet), the "WAP" singer recently took to Twitter to tease an upcoming collab that is sure to make people mad. And well, unless it’s Offset, Nicki seems like the most obvious guess.

Taking to Twitter on October 8th, she wrote, “Since ya mad ..imma give ya something mad to be about .....This next single and coll- ....Gonna have ya sick ...since ya here."

There's also an alleged "leak" floating around the Twitterverse, but we'll take that "leak" with a grain of salt. Nevertheless Cardi, you have our attention. To be honest, you never lost it.Although their 2018 brawl received plenty of media attention, the two seemingly went their separate ways after the incident without paying any lip service to the other. Basically, all was quiet on the Cardi vs. Nicki front. [video_embed id='2054536']WATCH: Inside Cardi B's Vegas birthday bash and Offset's special gift[/video_embed]

But in August of this year, Cardi seemed to go on the record to squash her long-running beef with Minaj, who recently gave birth to her first child. In an interview with Apple Music, Cardi discussed how female rappers took the control of the music scene when she was growing up. Cardi explained that, when she was young, female rappers were few and far between. “But then there was one female rapper that dominated for a very long time,” she shared. Okay, she didn’t exactly name names, but we have to think she was referring to Nicki.

With the success (and media interest/outcry) of "WAP" still fresh in our minds, we have no doubt that whatever comes next will be epic and newsworthy — especially if it brings Cardi B and Nicki Minaj together.[video_embed id='5986047193001']THROWBACK: Cardi B's twerking mishap led to an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction[/video_embed]
