Since details of his past transgressions surfaced online, D’Elia has seemingly been shut out of Hollywood, with Netflix scrapping a previously green-lit show featuring the comedian, and now his role in Army of the Dead. He was also reportedly fired by CAA and 3Arts.Army of the Dead follows a band of mercenaries who venture into a Las Vegas casino in the hopes of pulling off a rather risky heist. Risky, in this case, due to a particularly bad zombie outbreak — making the casino a quarantine zone. The cast is an impressive one, featuring Dave Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Garret Dillahunt, Ella Purnell, Theo Rossi, and now, Tig Notaro. It should also be noted that Army of the Dead is considered a “spiritual sequel” to Snyder’s 2004 film Dawn of the Dead — an apocalyptic horror classic that amassed a cult following upon its release. Since the movie entered post-production just prior to the lockdown, it will now undergo reshoots in order to incorporate Notaro. Due to pandemic restrictions, the reshoot process will require some special techniques. Variety explains that green screens, CGI and other special effects will be utilized to seamlessly add Notaro to the production.Notaro is well-known for both her comedic and acting chops, as she recently appeared in Star Trek: Discovery, and has released a number of Grammy-nominated comedy albums. She also starred in Instant Family, and alongside Natalie Portman in Lucy in the Sky. So, we think it’s safe to say, Army of the Dead is in good hands as Notaro steps up to the plate.[video_embed id='2012763']'Lovecraft Country' cast explore supernatural and real-life horrors in new series[/video_embed]Huge improvement. pic.twitter.com/yoeNAyMfLe
