Timothée Chalamet (and Armie Hammer) in
Call Me By Your Name. Stephan James in
If Beale Street Could Talk. Our own Ryan Gosling in
La La Land. Trevante Rhodes in
Moonlight. Every year at
TIFF, there's a new dreamy heartthrob anointed as The Internet’s Boyfriend and while this year there are no shortage of familiar, lovable dudes, we think the next batch of online crushes will emerge from our list of under-the-radar hotties coming to the festival this year.Take a peek at who is poised to get pulses racing!
Current boyfriends
Michael B. Jordan[caption id="attachment_4453641" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]Yes, you may already know Michael B(ae) Jordan from playing Killmonger in
Marvel’s Black Panther and Apollo Creed’s son Adonis in
Creed and
Creed II. But the GOAT is generating some SERIOUS Oscar Buzz in
Just Mercy, which he also executive-produced. Jordan is also is doing an In Conversation With... sit-down alongside co-star Jamie Foxx and we can't wait.
Adam Driver[caption id="attachment_4453640" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]Sure, sure, Kylo Ren, Ben Swolo, we get it. Now, hands up if you knew that OG Internet’s Boyfriend Adam Driver is also generating incredible buzz for his turn in Sundance standout
The Report. Driver’s competition for a Best Actor Oscar may come from...himself. Adam Driver also appears in Noah Baumbach’s highly anticipated
Marriage Story playing at TIFF, opposite Scarlett Johansson. Talk about using the force.
Dev Patel[caption id="attachment_4453639" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]What the Dickens? Dev Patel, fresh off a turn in the powerful
Hotel Mumbai, lightens it up in
The Personal History of David Copperfield. Still only 29, Patel has already accomplished a lot and the
Slumdog star so impressed the
Copperfield producers that they "never spoke about another actor" for the title role—an encouraging sign when it comes to opening up casting to all ethnicities and re-imagining who gets to play whom.
Boyfriends to watch
Aneurin Barnard[caption id="attachment_4453647" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]You may recognize this hunky Welsh actor from
Dunkirk opposite Harry Styles. Aneurin, pronounced AN-I-RIN (according to his
Twitter bio), appears in 3 (!) movies at TIFF. He’s Boris, Ansel Elgort’s Ukranian pal in
The Goldfinch, James Steerforth in
The Personal History of David Copperfield and Paul Langevin in TIFF closer,
Radioactive.Oliver Laxe[caption id="attachment_4453638" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy AFP Noticias[/caption]You’ve got to admit that the first image that comes to mind when picturing a director, and especially one in the visionary
Wavelengths program, is not the smoldering French-Spanish Oliver Laxe. The movie that he’s bringing to TIFF is called
Fire Will Come (insert your own joke here), and was the first title at Cannes to play in the Galician language. What’s Galician for "smokin’ hot director"?
Justin Chon[caption id="attachment_4453646" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]We would definitely be
Coming Home Again to Justin Chon, appearing in the Wayne Wang film of the same name at the festival. Previously seen in
Twilight next to Robert Pattinson, Chon made the leap by writing, directing and starring in the award-winning 2017 Sundance fave,
Gook.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II[caption id="attachment_4453645" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]Sure, Abdul-Mateen II just played the villain Black Manta in
Aquaman, appeared alongside fellow hottie Anthony Mackie in a very special
Black Mirror episode, and even had a small role on
The Handmaid’s Tale. Yet now that he’s at the festival in
Sweetness in the Belly, (check out that look he’s giving Dakota Fanning in the pic above), we all want to buy what Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is selling.
George MacKay[caption id="attachment_4453644" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy of TIFF[/caption]Oh man. It’s over and done with, it’s over and done with. Yes, we have been passengers on the George MacKay train since his performance in the 2013 TIFF smash
Sunshine on Leith, and he was utterly compelling opposite some of our faves in
How I Live Now, (Saoirse Ronan),
When Hands Touch (Amandla Stenberg) and
Captain Fantastic (Viggo Mortensen). At this year’s fest, MacKay comes into his own with the violent and savage
True History of the Kelly Gang. We would walk 500 miles for this man.
Luke Bilyk[caption id="attachment_4453643" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Courtesy Luke Bilyk[/caption]Next up is local talent Luke Bilyk. After graduating from
Degrassi: The Next Class as Drew, Bilyk appeared in the tearjerker
Kiss and Cry, and now changes it up a little at TIFF in Nicole Dorsey’s searing examination of masculinity,
Black Conflux. One thing is for certain: Bilyk has us all saying O, Canada!
Kelvin Harrison Jr.[caption id="attachment_4453642" align="alignleft" width="960"]

Getty Images[/caption]Boy, do we have a lot to say about the handsome Kelvin Harrison Jr. Not only was he in last year’s
JT Leroy opposite Kristen Stewart, as well as the Drake-produced
Of Monsters and Men, and opposite Suki Waterhouse in
Assassination Nation, but this year he reunites with his
It Comes at Night director Trey Edward Shults in the highly anticipated
WAVES. Oh and on top of all of that, he’s a TIFF International Rising Star.
