Right from the trailer’s opening seconds it’s clear that this is going to be yet another physical role for Craig. There are chase scenes, a bullet-riddled car, an elevator explosion, a harrowing plane ride and many intense moments in between—including one fun scene around the 1:38 mark in which Bond can be seen underground in a shot that’s totally reminiscent of the franchise’s signature gun barrel sequence. It all sounds appropriate really, given that it’s Craig’s last hurrah as the iconic character. After five films the actor is stepping out of his famous tux and giving up the martinis (Vesper or otherwise) in order to pursue other things. He’s the sixth actor to helm the series, following in the footsteps of other Bond icons like Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan. (George Lazenby had a less successful run with just one movie). While starring in five films is impressive, it isn’t enough to break the record. That goes to Connery and Moore in a tie, as the actors each starred in seven Bond films over their respective careers as the agent. However, many agree that Craig’s take on the character has been the most physical of the bunch, and this new trailer certainly seems to back that up.Fans of director Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective season one) would expect nothing less, mind you. The director (the first American to ever helm a Bond film) is known for his intense shots and artful approach to action scenes, and some have argued that his entire career has led up to this movie. This also appears to be the first Bond film where the leading character actively teams up with an agent who is every bit his equal, as evidenced in the trailer by his scenes with Nomi. It seems like viewers may have Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) to thank for that. She co-wrote the script with Fukunaga, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, adding some much-needed female perspective to the franchise that has long objectified women. No Time to Die was originally supposed to hit theatres in April but then the coronavirus pandemic hit and the movie has since been delayed several times. It now premieres on November 20 in North America (November 12 in the U.K.), and some industry insiders are hoping that it’s the film that brings audiences back to the cinema following COVID-19.[video_embed id='1918771']RELATED: Daniel Craig says he wants another baby[/video_embed]The mission that changes everything begins… #NoTimeToDie in cinemas this November. pic.twitter.com/nBP6aUrwDy
