Disney has just announced that they are once again pushing back the release date on two of their biggest titles of the year. The house of mouse confirmed on November 5 that they are removing Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy and Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile from their calendar. The action comedy starring Reynolds along with Jodie Cormer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi was originally scheduled to be released on July 3. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film stars Reynolds as Guy, a non-player character who lives inside a video game. When Guy gains awareness that his life is a scripted video game, he decides to step outside his storyline and become the hero. Levy and Reynolds produced the film together, and it faced its first schedule setback earlier this year with a move from July to December. Up until this week, Free Guy was still listed as opening in theatres on December 11, but that changed with Disney’s latest announcement.[video_embed id='2040098']RELATED: Jann Arden invites Ryan Reynolds to play her boyfriend on her hit show 'Jann' [/video_embed]Death on the Nile acts as a follow-up to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express.
