As an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer, Paul Rudd is no stranger to expressing himself and doing what he loves. While most people already know that Rudd loves the Marvel franchise (hello, Ant-Man) what they may not know is that the actor really loves our home and native land. Thanks to his career, Rudd has had plenty of opportunities to film in Canada ––like Ghostbusters 2020, which he recently wrapped up filming in Calgary, Alberta. While for us, the reasons for loving Canada is endless, for others (we’re talking to you, America!) it may be difficult to understand why. Aside from the obvious free healthcare and robustly diverse culture, Rudd loves our country for a magnitude of reasons. Curious as to what they are? Keep scrolling! In a recent interview with etalk, Rudd sat down with his Irish co-star, actress Aisling Bea, to discuss why Canadians will love their new series, Living With Yourself. Rudd was quick to respond, making it clear to us that he was listing his favourite Canadian things, too. Spoiler alert: Rudd knows all about those President’s Choice cookies!
Rudd’s Canadian love doesn’t just stop with food and sports––he’s also a fan of Canadian sitcom, Schitt’s Creek. According to Rudd, Catherine O’Hara’s is the best thing since the Mars Rover and Eugene Levy is an all-around MVP. It’s safe to say that Levy will have no problem sponsoring Rudd when he’s ready to apply for his Canadian visa. After seeing what Rudd had to say about Schitt’s Creek, Levy took to Twitter to express that he’s all about a #friendshipgoals bromance with Rudd. Here’s an idea: a joint Paul Rudd and Eugene Levy Instagram account dedicated strictly to comedy and reviewing all things Canadian. Now that’s something we’d add to our list of “Favourite Canadian Things” in a heartbeat.
