Get out your Ghostface mask,
Scream is coming back in a big way this weekend. On Saturday, November 14 the cast of franchise-spawning first
Scream movie will reunite for a fundraiser (and, of course, for the fans). Neve Campbell, who announced the reunion over Instagram, will join David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, Jamie Kennedy and writer Kevin Williamson to chat about their time on the set of the 1996 surprise hit horror movie, which is currently in the process of adding a fifth installment to the
Scream franchise canon.
Scream 5 began filming this past September (strict on-set COVID restrictions firmly in place) and is due, after a pandemic-induced delay, to be released in 2022. Both Campbell and Arquette will reprise their roles in the new movie — Campbell as the perpetually haunted Sidney Prescott and Arquette as the seemingly stab-proof Sheriff Dewey Riley.
Courtney Cox has also signed on to return as reporter Gale Weathers. And though fans will have to wait some time before they get another glimpse of whoever is currently wearing the Ghostface mask, the
Scream 1 reunion is just days away and tickets for the virtual event are up for grabs now (head
here if you’re interested — and for superfans, there’s a limited number of one-on-one video call opportunities available, too). The virtual reunion is being held to raise funds for three different organizations supporting women and children: the National Breast Cancer Coalition, the youth-centred I Have A Dream foundation, and the East Los Angeles Women’s Centre, which provides, shelter, medical, and social support to women and children who’ve experienced abuse and domestic violence.Livestream tickets are just $20 and VIP meet-and-greets go for a fairly reasonable $90, though Cambell’s dance card is already full — we suspect some
Party of Five fans may have caught word of this event.
