There is just no escaping those pesky dinos, but for the global fans who live for these movies, why would you ever want to? If you count yourself among that formerly extinct breed, then Colin Trevorrow has your back. Not only is the
Jurassic World III director ready to create some serious on-screen magic with one the biggest films of the franchise to-date, but he’s here to share the journey with fans on Instagram.Indeed, Trevorrow sped to the social media site faster than a Velociraptor on February 25 to announce that production on the new film has started, while also revealing the first
Easter Dino egg of the year: the new film’s title is
Jurassic World: Dominion.
The title is meant to paint a picture of the biblical passage about God giving humanity dominion over earth, which sounds pretty appropriate considering the film picks up following 2018’s
Fallen Kingdom, which had the dinosaurs escaping captivity and gallivanting off into the rest of the world. What could possibly go wrong? As terrifying as that premise sounds, it’s also the perfect excuse to stage a meeting between the OG
Jurassic Park crew and the new
Jurassic World characters. So naturally, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are meeting up with
Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill, who have all appeared in various sequels over the years but never all together since co-starring in the 1993 Steven Spielberg blockbuster. To get into the spirit of things Pratt also shared the post on his
Instagram page with the definition of “dominion” and warning fans to, “Hold onto your butts.” Naturally a slew of celebrity fans revealed themselves in the comments as a result. Zach Levi wrote, “Giddyup!” with a dance emoji, Patrick Schwarzenegger asked if he could be an extra, and
Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen wrote, “Damn, that’s so cool dude. It must be surreal as an actor to be at this level!!!”Dallas Howard was equally
excited to kick things off, even making a hashtag out of #HoldOntoYourButts, which Josh Gad and Melissa Joan Hart seemed very excited about in the comments. Not to be outdone, Neill also got in on the action, writing on Pratt’s page that he’s “bringing the first aid kit… just in case.” And for her part Laura Dern also
shared the photo to her account with the simple caption, “shall we?” which Gwendoline Christie and Ali Wentworth were totally there for in the comments. Who knew so many celebs were giddy about this franchise? Actually, considering
Fallen Kingdom pulled in 1.3 billion dollars US at the global box office, it’s really not
that surprising.Of course the celebrations will probably end once the real terror of dinosaurs walking among humans happens in the 2021 release, and viewers find out what Dr. Alan Grant (Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Dern) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) have been up to since their last appearances. Until then, fans can look forward to more sneak peeks and posts from Trevorrow on
his new Instagram account, which seems like it will be dedicated to all things dino over the next few months.[video_embed id='-1']Golden Retriever puppy is overly-excited to see her owner[/video_embed]
