Watch out, Kevin Hart—it looks like Dwayne Johnson may have a new bestie scene partner. After starring together in the upcoming Disney film Jungle Cruise, it looks like Johnson and co-star Emily Blunt are set to work together once again in the film Ball and Chain. Coincidentally, those are two of the massive weights that Johnson uses in his daily exercise regime.Announced by Deadline, Johnson and Blunt are teaming up once again for the upcoming comic book inspired film Ball and Chain, based on the four-part 1999 DC comic written by Scott Lobell. The series centres on married couple Edgar and Mallory Bulson who have decided to end their marriage until a meteor hits and covers them in a mysterious substance that gives them superpowers. Of course, there’s a catch. The couple’s superpowers only work when they are getting along with each other. It feels like there’s a much bigger message here.Deadline is reporting that Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company is behind the new film, which will be written by The Big Sick’s Emily V. Gordon. Along with husband Kumail Nanjiani, Gordon earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay for the 2017 autobiographical dramedy. Gordon has also written for Pete Holmes’ HBO show Crashing and most recently created Little America with Nanjiani. She's also set to write actor Sarah Hyland’s first major post-Modern Family project, which will take inspiration from both of the ladies respective health struggles, including Gordon’s systemic autoinflammatory Still’s disease diagnosis and Hyland’s kidney dysplasia and endometriosis.[video_embed id='1943487']RELATED: The Rock and Issa Rae teaming up for a new HBO series[/video_embed]Fans have yet to see Johnson and Blunt’s first movie together, which was filmed in Hawaii in 2018. Based on the iconic Disney World ride, Jungle Cruise was originally scheduled to be released in October 2019 but the date was delayed until this summer and in April, Disney announced that Jungle Cruise had once again been pushed back to July 31, 2021 following the outbreak of COVID-19. Like Ball and Chain, Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company is also behind the Disney flick.Emily Blunt's next movie has also seen its release date pushed back because of quarantine. She re-teams with husband John Krasinski for A Quiet Place 2, which was going to hit theatres in March but is now scheduled to come out in September. She still has another film to go before she can rival Johnson’s on-screen relationship with comedian Kevin Hart, though. Johnson and Hart have already starred together in three movies, including Central Intelligence, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level.Johnson and Blunt are following in the footsteps of other Hollywood co-stars whose undeniable chemistry has led to several films together, including Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, and Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. The trick, it appears, is to be extremely likable, which Johnson and Blunt already have on lock.[video_embed id='1918161']BEFORE YOU GO: Emily Blunt doesn't think Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively would survive in 'A Quiet Place'[/video_embed]
