First, we fell in love with Jenny from the block… and now? We’ve fallen in love with (arguably) her biggest fan, Joseph Longo in Row 13 Seat B on board a JetBlue flight to LAX on Monday morning. For those of you who haven’t heard (but really, you must have heard) our girl JLo woke up to a Golden Globes nomination today for her work on Hustlers. This marks her second Globes nomination, following her 1997 nod for Selena. So basically… It’s. About. Damn. Time. This is where Joseph Longo comes in (should we call him JLo Jr.?), a culture writer from New York City. Determined to fan the flames of JLo’s award-season momentum, Longo wasted no time on his flight from NY to LAX and tweeted for JetBlue passengers to get on board (pun intended) and watch Hustlers during the flight. “There are definitely Oscar voters on this flight!” Longo added in another tweet and, to everyone’s delight, one of the pilots decided to act as his wingman. Coming on the loud speaker, the pilot announced Longo’s ‘special request’ to the cabin of passengers and even referred to him as ‘JLo’s Back-up Dancer’. BRB, we imagine Joseph is updating his resume as we speak. Naturally, Longo wasted no time adding this to his verified Twitter handle and bio, but perhaps even more exciting than his viral plea, is the fact that JLo herself tweeted back at him. Beyond winning over the passengers of JetBlue, Lopez has been hailed for her performance as Ramona, the savvy, matriarch ringleader of a crew of savvy former strip club employees who join forces to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. In fact, JLo was recently named best supporting actress for the film by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, as well. Clearly, the woman is having a good month.Lopez responded to the news of her Globe nomination this morning with a selfie video (looking her usual flawless self) saying “I’m just waking up and I just heard that I got nominated. Oh my god, it’s been 20 years since Selena. I’ll see you at the Globes!”Honestly, we love a feel-good social media story, so thank you, Joseph, for fighting the good fight and cheering on our girl. Oh, and good luck in your newly appointed role as JLo’s latest back-up dancer and ultimate hype-man.
