In the middle of the pandemic, Black Widow superstar Scarlett Johansson sued Disney for breach of contract when it released the movie on the streaming service at the same time as cinemas, something that the actress claimed robbed her of contractual profits.

Now, in a new interview with Variety, the Lost in Translation star says Disney’s response to her suit was “sad and disappointing,” but that it hasn’t stopped her from fan-girling hard over Disney World and the Magic Kingdom.

“I was sad and disappointed,” she told the outlet. “But mostly sad.”

At the time that the Girl With A Pearl Earring star filed her suit, Disney responded by releasing a statement, calling her suit, "sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic." They also stated they "fully complied with Ms. Johansson's contract," adding the simultaneous release of the movie on streaming and in cinemas ensured that she made, "additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date."

The suit was settled in 2021 but details of the settlement are not public.

Reflecting on that suit, The Other Boleyn Girl star told the outlet, “It was such a surreal moment because we were all isolated and just sort of emerging a little bit. I was also really heavily pregnant, too, which in a weird way was amazing timing.”

Scarlett and hubby Colin Jost welcomed baby Cosmo who is now 20 months old, adding to her family. She already has either-year-old daughter Rose with ex husband Romain Dauriac.

She added, “Suddenly, your entire attention is drawn to this miracle of life. So, I had the most wonderful distraction in the world and soon after had a beautiful baby.”

Despite the bitterness of the suit, Scarlett and Walt Disney Studios are still in business together, the outlet reports, noting that she will still star in the studios upcoming movie Tower of Terror, based on the ride at Disney World.

Speaking of Disney World, the Her star says she still visits the park 10 times a year, and “geeks out” over their movies.

“We had annual passes to Disney World, and I have a real passion for the Disney parks,” she gushes. “Also, when I was growing up, it was a great time for Disney animation — ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Lion King’ with the incredible soundtrack. Like, I will be pre-buying tickets to ‘The Little Mermaid.’ I actually need to text my sister about that.”

Speaking of gushing, she also reveals some of her early crushes on fellow cast mates during her childhood roles on stage and screen. In 1993, when she was 9, she had a crush on cast mate Ethan Hawke when they co-started in the Off Broadway play “Sophistry.”

“I remember having a total huge crush on Ethan at the time because he was like everything in that era,” she remembers. Scarlett is ALL OF US at that moment.

She also admits to having  “a crush on Elijah Wood” when they co-starred in 1994’s North.

So much SAME.
