Shawn Mendes was cast in the role of best supporting boyfriend during Wednesday’s red carpet event for the upcoming Disney remake of Cinderella, which stars the Canadian singer’s longtime girlfriend Camila Cabello in the title role. Prince Charming, is that you?

“Congratulations my love, I’m so proud of you. I’ve never seen anybody work as hard as you did to show up everyday and be truly professional, kind and authentic,” tweeted Mendes. “I admire you so much. Such a beautiful movie with a beautiful message.” Okay, that’s some real-life fairytale stuff right there.

The pair looked like the coolest kids at the prom at the premiere in Cabello’s hometown of Miami, which gave both singers a chance to show off their edgy style. Similar to her look for Monday’s Cinderella premiere in Los Angeles, Cabello once again put her edges on display, this time pairing her baby hairs with a retro bob style. Cabello worked with stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn on Wednesday and opted for a bold gold eyeliner that was paired a white crop top and a dreamy Christian Siriano yellow tulle skirt.

While his Señorita looked every part the cool princess, Mendes had his own Cinderella moment with a sheer shirt that threatened to steal the show throughout the night. Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, we can see through your shirt.

If you think Shawn Mendes isn’t coming for the Best Dressed Man of 2021 by GQ, think again.

TBH, Mendes has been working his way up to this look for a while. First, there was the slight sheerness of his casual cool looks.

Then there was the toe-dipping into the opened button look.

And now the transformation into fashion icon is complete.

Plus, do you know how humid Miami is in September? Fashion aside, this is plain practical. An airy Shawn is a happy Shawn.

Wednesday’s red carpet event was the second premiere this week for Cinderella. On Monday night, Cabello was joined by castmates Idina Menzel, Billy Porter and director Kay Cannon at the Greek Theatre. The actors have been busy promoting the film, which premieres on Amazon on Friday, September 3, and recently participated in a Crosswalk the Musical event with co-star and producer James Corden for The Late Late Show. The English actor and comedian has yet to appear at a premiere for Cinderella, which means we’ll have to keep waiting for a return of his enthusiastic man-sized mouse persona
