Lindsay Lohan is making a return to the big screen in a yet-to-be-titled Netflix Christmas rom-com.

The streaming service announced Monday, May 24, that The Parent Trap actress will star in the holiday rom-com as a “newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who gets amnesia after a skiing accident and finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas,” according to Variety. We’re already hooked.

The rest of the cast has not yet been announced and the Netflix movie doesn't start production until November, so the film won’t be for the 2021 holiday season.

Lohan was only 11 years old when The Parent Trap sent her to stardom in 1998. She continued her acting career with her iconic roles in Freaky Friday, Mean Girls and Georgia Rule. Lohan eventually removed herself from acting after years of being tormented by paparazzi and tabloids.

She moved out of the United States and lived in both Europe and Dubai. She has launched some projects since her acting hiatus in 2010 and was in Paul Schrader’s The Canyons and Speed-The-Plow in 2014.

She later became a recurring actor on the British TV comedy Sick Note in 2018 and went on to star in her own MTV reality show Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club in 2019 where that hilarious dancing moment took place. The reality series let MTV cameras document the 34-year-old actress managing a club in Mykonos, Greece but it was cancelled after the first season.

This Netflix film will mark Lohan's first feature film since the 2019 horror thriller, Among the Shadows.

Fans of Lilo took to Twitter to celebrate her acting comeback.

Lohan did hint that she was looking forward to coming "back to America and start filming again" when she was speaking to Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen at CNN's 2019 New Year's Eve broadcast.

She said she wanted to "take back the life that I worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys."

We welcome Lindsay back to our screens with open arms!
