FoxHive, it's finally happening. The queen of late 2000's blockbusters, Megan Fox, is making a comeback. Okay sure, it's not like she ever officially left, per say, but it has been a while since we've seen her on a red carpet, and it’s about time the badass brunette made her way back to the big screen.Following a two-season stint on New Girl as Nick’s love interest Reagan, the actress has been pretty quiet in Hollywood. But on Thursday, Variety reported that Fox is gearing up to star in an upcoming suspense thriller (okay, we’re already intrigued) called Aurora.Directed by Lazar Bodroža (A.I. Rising), the film follows a female astronaut (Fox, obviously) who is stationed in outer space with one very important responsibility: monitor solar storms that endanger earth. The catch? The storms are seemingly bending time (shock waves can do that, apparently) and pushing her into an ‘emotional and psychological struggle with her past and present,” according to Arclight Films, which is currently shopping the project at the European Film Festival in Berlin. Potential for some serious drama? We think so.[video_embed id='1895904']RELATED: Margot Robbie says 'Birds of Prey' reflects her eclectic taste in films[/video_embed]Of course, Fox is no stranger to action-packed roles, with credit to her work on the Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchises. That being said, she’s also no stranger to the thriller genre… after all, she did play a drop dead gorgeous (literally) demon in Jennifer’s Body, with an appetite for, well, violence. With that in mind, we can only wonder what this next project has in store for us… will it resemble Sandra Bullock’s suspenseful space drama Gravity, or something a bit more niche and dread-inducing?The Aurora production crew includes Gary Hamilton, Jordan Gertner (Spring Breakers) and Toby Gibson (The Lego Movie franchise), but for now, we’re left wondering who else might be cast to star in the flick. And, that's not all we can expect from Fox. In true comeback fashion, the star has a few roles lined up for the (very near) future, including the upcoming movie Midnight In The Switchgrass alongside Bruce Willis. Set in 2004, the film will follow Fox and Willis, both starring as FBI agents, and a Florida State officer (played by Emile Hirsch) who team up to investigate a string of unsolved murder cases. Clearly, she’s into the suspense theme right now, and honestly, we aren’t complaining.Welcome back, Megan.
