In 2020, relationship milestones now include releasing your first joint PSA to encourage social distancing. Things are officially getting scary and weird. They also think everyone should spend this time making their homes open concept and take renovation breaks to record songs on the ukulele. JK, but we have a feeling their quarantine is much more productive than ours.Deschanel and Scott posted the same video on their Instagram accounts on March 19, keeping the video and their message simple and straightforward. “Hi guys, we want to have an honest conversation,” says Scott, who opens the video. “There’s a lot of crazy stuff going on right now and a lot of misinformation going around. Some people saying, ‘Well, I’m in a low risk category. I’m not afraid of catching coronavirus.’ But you can pass it on to somebody who is in a higher risk category. So, we’re just asking for one thing.”[video_embed id='1925884']RELATED: Stuck at home with kids? The couple were met with praise and criticism for their video, with some followers applauding the couple for using their platform to encourage social distancing, while others criticized the pair for not acknowledging that many people are still being forced to work and cannot remain in their homes.“I don’t want to be a pain but some people don’t have the luxury of staying home and drawing money from their large bank accounts while their TV shows are on hiatus. You need to take that into account,” wrote one follower on Deschanel’s video. “It’s not that simple when our jobs are still requiring our attendance,” added another.Deschanel addressed the criticism in the comments section, writing “Stay home if you are able! I understand many of you cannot because of your jobs, whether you are a medical professional or another essential job, and that’s why it’s important for those of us who can stay home to stay home. Love to you all, and stay safe!”Scott also added a comment to his video, writing “If you’re in a position where you can stay home...you should. There are many people in essential careers who still have to work...and they’re playing an important role too. For the rest of us...social distancing is very important. Thank you everyone.” In conclusion, stay home if you can so that people who can’t stay home aren’t put at further risk.Deschanel and Scott met last year while filming an episode of Apple TV’s Carpool Karaoke series. The pair appeared on the show with their siblings, including Deschanel’s sister, actor Emily Deschanel, and Jonathan’s twin brother Drew. The pair quietly began dating shortly after and went public with their relationship in September.
