If your only date during the coronavirus pandemic is with Keanu Reeves, you’re definitely doing this whole lockdown thing better than most. Even if it only lasts 15 minutes. Reeves, who can soon be seen in Bill and Ted Face the Music, is auctioning himself off online and is up for (screen) grabs to anyone willing to part with a sizable chunk of change, which will go to a good cause.Keanu is offering a 15-minute virtual chat for charity with funds directed to Camp Rainbow Gold, an organization that serves Idaho kids who’ve been diagnosed with cancer by providing them with the emotional support and empowerment they need during their treatment. So far, the competition has been fierce: the current highest bidder has committed to shelling out an impressive $16,800 just to see the actor’s face pop up on their screen and have him address them by name. Post-conversation bragging rights include the authority to tell anyone and everyone who’ll listen that Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, star of The Matrix and John Wick movies, knows who you are.
The auction will run until June 22 with the Zoom call taking place the week of July 6, so there’s plenty of time to either put up or take down whatever Keanu shrine you might want (or not want) to be in the background of the call should your bid take the cake.Of course the brief conversation might not mean the actor will fall madly in love with the auction winner, like some Sandra Bullock-Keanu Reeves rom-com plot of yore, especially seeing as how he may already have a romantic partner in Alexandra Grant. But a little fantasy for a good cause never hurt anyone.[video_embed id='5982209160001']RELATED: Sandra Bullock reveals what she thought of 'Speed' co-star Keanu Reeves[/video_embed]
