No, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not closing up shop and moving to Canada, but they are ripping a page out of Harry and Meghan’s book by taking a bit of a break from their oh-so-tiresome royal duties. The reason for their break, however, is all kinds of sweet. The couple announced they’re pulling back in the month of February so that they can spend more time with their kids. The couple has been out and about a lot recently with royal engagements and BAFTA red carpets and lots and lots of Megxit damage control, and they just need to hit pause on it all while Prince George, 6, and Princess Charlotte, 4, are on their half-term break from the Thomas’s Battersea school in London.[video_embed id='1865800']RELATED: How Prince William is planning to tackle the climate crisis[/video_embed]So, while the babes are free of the classroom from February 17-21, Will and Kate are slowing down their schedule for a real fam-jam with them and 22-month old Prince Louis. That means fans probably won’t get many glimpses of the royal family during that period, but in times like these it’s probably important to update the public when you’re going to be going dark for a bit. People talk, you know. The good news is that royal “insiders” are convinced all of these speaking engagements have made Will and Kate even tighter than usual. “The Cambridges are busier than ever since Harry and Meghan left the U.K. You’d think their hectic schedule would put strain on the marriage, but it’s actually brought them closer together,” the unnamed source told Us Weekly. “Working as a team and supporting each other is essential at a time like this, and that’s exactly what they’re doing.”Of course royal watchers probably already know that the couple takes this kind of a break every year in order to spend time with their kids, although it could be argued that this year they need it more than most. Regardless, they haven’t updated the public on where they’re going to be spending the break (they do have a ton of options what with all of the cottages and extended family homes), but considering the goal of the hiatus is to spend quality time with the kids, royal fans shouldn’t hold their breath for updates.Meanwhile, things in Canada continue to evolve for the former senior royals, Harry and Meghan. During a visit to Miami for JPMorgan Chase’s billionaire’s summit they were spotted having a date night with J-Lo and A-Rod, and now Harry is considering taking a gig with Goldman Sachs as some kind of an online guest speaker for the Talks at GS series.Just spit-balling here, but wouldn’t it be sweet if Will and Kate were actually headed to Canada for some quality time with their brother and sister-in-law? Fans who are hoping the brothers will reunite can only dream.[video_embed id='1887511']RELATED: Here's how the royals are championing mental health[/video_embed]
