Turnips have a way of bringing people together...  said no one ever. But in this case, it might actually be a thing, because it turns out that Lord of the Rings star Elijah Woods has some turnips to sell on Nintendo’s long-running video game ‘Animal Crossing,’ and has no problem sliding into his fans DMs in order to achieve that goal. He’s the Gandalf of farming, and we have the receipts to prove it.

It all began when Twitter user Jessa tweeted that her ‘AC’ turnip prices were 599 bells (wow, what a steal). Luckily, she hashtagged the tweet with #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons because everyone’s favourite hobbit Elijah Wood stumbled upon it, and let her know under no uncertain terms that he wanted IN.

“Would love your dodo code to sell these turnips!” he said in a DM to Jessa, which she screencapped for all posterity (bless her), and suddenly Elijah’s avatar popped into her shop under the name “Elwood” (Not to be mistaken with Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, naturally). On top of Elijah being the fine purveyor of turnips we always hoped he’d be, he was also a paragon of politeness. In Jessa’s tweets, we can see him asking for permission to pick her fruit, complimenting her on her beautiful island, and clapping along as she ran around in (virtual) circles. Um, is Elijah Woods the cutest?

Of course, all good things must come to an end, and Elwood eventually left Jessa’s island, but not before the internet lost its dang mind.
