On the heels of announcing her new album Good News will drop on November 20th, and penning a powerful op-ed for The New York Times about the game-changing influence of Black women in politics, Megan Thee Stallion is still out here, this time gracing us with her delightful presence in a new appearance on GQ.The “Savage” rapper doesn’t try to sell her new album, and no, she doesn’t get into politics. Instead, she starts off with her signature “ah” before going undercover on Instagram, Twitter, Wikipedia and other platforms to answer our burning questions. Like, why is she called “Thee Stallion”? Is she from San Antonio or Houston? What is the breed of her new dog? THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW.
Logging into Quora (“How do you say this, Quinoa?”), she’s asked, “Why is society so bothered by the song 'WAP' by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion?”“Girl, I don't know!” she exclaims, wearing a white stole, bracelets on each wrist, and the best rings in town. “Why does me having a WAP offend you? One year, it was bad to have a dry A-P. So now y'all mad because we got wet ones? Y'all men gotta make up y'all mind.” Can someone please have this response printed on T-shirts and bumper stickers? We need to get the word out.Switching to Twitter, she tweets, “it's only like three more months left in 2020. Yes God,” and a reply that comes in says, “so we are for sure 2021 gonna be that different? Asking for the billions of people on this planet.” Yes, the pandemic has been brutal, on top of the public brutalization of Black bodies, and let’s not forget the continuing circus of the American Presidential election, but Megan isn’t a mind-reader nor a fortune teller.“If I could see the future, I would tell you that answer,” she claps back. “But I can't. So let's just pray that 2021 is going to be better than 2020 has been. This is insane, like we thought we was gon' be flying cars by now, and really everybody just tearing s--t up. Next!”[video_embed id='2076656']RELATED: Megan Thee Stallion announces debut album ‘Good News’ [/video_embed]As the fun deep-dive into social media and the general internet continues through Wikipedia, Instagram, Youtube, and others, Megan explains the true questions of our generation. Here's a comprehensive breakdown:
  • How did she originate the phrase “Hot girl summer” in 2018?“I mean, I really originated it in my head, and then I put it on social media... doing what you wanna do, being the baddest B you can be, and not caring what nobody got to say about it, and just being unapologetically you!”
  • How does she get her nails so FIRE?Her nail girl Coca who comes to her house.
  • If she's really from Houston, why do some sources say she's from San Antonio?"I am 100% from Houston, Texas, but my mother was pregnant with me in Houston. My grandmother is from San Antonio and she was like, 'You need to come have this baby in San Antonio.' So my mama drove to San Antonio, had me in the hospital and took my right back to the H."
  • What breed is her new puppy?"Ten is a Cane Corso and he is just amazing. Four and Dos, my two little Frenchies, they really be bullying him. They've been jumping him lately and I'm like, y'all better enjoy bullying him while he's small because in three more weeks he's going to be way bigger than all of us."
  • And the biggest reveal – what is the trick to her exceptional winged eyeliner?“Girl, you really got to have like a steady hand I guess,” she quips. A steady hand? In 2020? In this economy!? We wish.

On YouTube, the most signature “Stallion” question comes in – “But is it really a Meg song if she doesn't say 'ah' at least five times?” Dang, this person knows their Stallion catalogue.“No, it's not!” Megan admits. And then she ends the interview with, you guessed it, “ah.” Never change, lady.[video_embed id='2049925']BEFORE YOU GO: 'Horse girl' from Alberta can gallop and jump just like a horse [/video_embed]
