As per usual, the wings taste mostly of regret.

Forget dragons and the Night King—Maisie Williams battled a new beast this week as she armed herself with a hefty glass of oat milk and took on a platter of spicy vegan wings for an episode of Hot Ones. Over the course of her appearance she offered up insights into the Joe Jonas/Sophie Turner wedding, Game of Thrones behind the scenes and the Taylor Swift song based on her character.ICYMI: Hot Ones is the insanely popular YouTube show which forces (through mostly peer pressure) a variety of celebs to eat increasingly hotter chicken (or cauliflower) wings with host Sean Evans while he grills them on their projects and social media presence. It sounds like a simple enough concept, but generally the celeb is weeping, screaming, incomprehensible or a combination of all three by the end.The 22-year-old actress had reason to be scared as she recalled a time her stepdad encouraged everyone in the family to take a spoonful of hot sauce on Christmas day and then "wanting to put the milk in my ears where it was burning so much.” Good start.
Maisie downed the first four wings easily but when wing five came along, she was like all the rest—coughing, crying and making some of the wildest facial expressions we've seen on a celebrity face. She knew what she was signing up for—why are Sean's victims always so surprised when their mouths begin to feel like the pits of hell and they're slowly compelled to regret every decision they've ever made that led them to the show?Between Wings of Death, the interview ranged from topics like Maisie’s Game of Thrones audition (she almost missed it because she wanted to go on a school field trip to a pig farm), her thoughts on social media and tech (she owns a start-up) and that time Drake gave her a shout-out at an awards show (“I was like, wowww—it was really exciting”).Evans also brought up the unlikely connection between Williams’ GOT character, Arya Stark, and Taylor Swift, with Williams joking that Look What You Made Me Do made her feel relevant. Swift has said that her Reputation album was partly inspired by Game of Thrones, which she binge-watched while making the record. “It was cool,” Maisie acknowledged. “I loved that album.”The conversation turned to Maisie's GOT co-star and BFF Sophie Turner, who married Joe Jonas earlier this year. When Evans asked about the reception, Maisie noted “It was quite the party,” adding that Diplo blew off another gig to DJ. “Apparently he was supposed to be at Glastonbury but he didn’t go because he came to the wedding,” she said, taking a swig of oat milk. “And that’s the tea.”Thanks for that, Maisie, but is there any chance you'll ever be able to taste again?[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Maisie Williams is Sophie Turner’s maid of honour[/video_embed]
