Vanessa Bryant announces new book created by late husband Kobe

He may be gone but his work lives on in this sequel.

Vanessa Bryant, the widow of basketball star Kobe Bryant who passed under tragic circumstances in January of this year, has announced on her Instagram that his legacy of work will continue. On Tuesday she posted that a book that Kobe collaborated on is available now. Entitled The Wizenard Series: Season One, it is a sequel to an earlier book Kobe was involved with, written by Wesley King.In the short video clip posted to her Instagram, we can see a shadowy figure in the background dribbling a basketball with the words, “sometimes winning means defeating yourself.” Vanessa captioned the video with, “Welcome back to Dren! We hope you are all ready to catch up with the West Bottom Badgers for another magical basketball season.”

This is a book about chasing your dreams.” The first book in the series The Wizenard Series: Training Camp, marked a shift in Kobe’s career after basketball, as he began to become more involved in publishing and writing. It was revealed after he passed that he was in fact writing a book with famed The Alchemist novelist Paulo Coelho. Coelho told The Associated Press that he deleted the draft of that book after Kobe’s passing, and he confirmed it via his official Twitter as well, including a screencap of his text exchanges with the basketball legend.
