This week Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made history when they became the first royals to openly endorse a candidate ahead of an election, something that Buckingham Palace distanced itself from immediately by reminding people that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer working members of the royal family.Royal watchers weren’t the only ones who noted that Meghan and Harry were Team Biden though. When asked at a press conference on September 23 what he thought of the Joe Biden endorsement, Donald Trump didn’t hold back his real thoughts. As per usual.  “I’m not a fan of hers. And I would say this. And she probably has heard that. But I wish a lot of luck to Harry because he’s gonna need it,” he told reporters.[video_embed id='2041896'] Donald Trump on Harry and Meghan's election comments[/video_embed]This isn’t the first time Markle and Trump have butted heads publicly, of course. During the 2016 election Markle threw her weight behind Hillary Clinton while calling Trump “misogynistic” and “divisive.” At the time she also said she might move to Canada if he were elected. And for his part Trump has called her “nasty,” which seems to be Trump’s insult of choice for women he doesn’t like.RELATED: Meghan Markle has political aspirations. While Trump’s latest mockery may be shocking to some who wonder why he didn’t also take Harry down for the same messages, what was even more shocking about the press conference was that Trump made some big statements about throwing out ballots and preventing the transfer of power if he does lose on November 3. "Well, we're going to have to see what happens," he said when asked if he would commit to a peaceful transition."You know that I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster," Trump said according to CNN in reference to mail-in ballots, which he has baselessly said will lead to voter fraud. “(G)et rid of the ballots and you'll have a very ... there won't be a transfer, frankly. There'll be a continuation. The ballots are out of control."On September 22 Meghan and Harry appeared during a televised special for TIME’s most influential people of the year, in which they urged people to vote. “Every four years, we are told the same thing, that ‘this is the most important election of our lifetime.’ But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter. Because you do, and you deserve to be heard,” Meghan said.“When the bad outweighs the good, for many, whether we realize it or not, it erodes our ability to have compassion and our ability to put our self into someone else’s shoes,” Harry added. “Because when one person buys into negativity online, the effects are felt exponentially. It’s time to not only reflect but act… As we approach this November, it’s vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”Let the countdown to November 3 continue…[video_embed id='2041626']RELATED: Harry and Meghan's special message from their California backyard[/video_embed]
