Tom Hanks confirms he and Rita Wilson have tested positive for Coronavirus

The Academy Award-winning actor shared the news on social media.

On Wednesday, Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks announced that he and wife Rita Wilson had tested positive for the Coronavirus. Hanks and Wilson, both 63, are currently in Australia where Hanks is in pre-production for Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley biopic.In a social media post shared Wednesday evening, Hanks describes their symptoms saying, "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too." He continues, "To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive." Tom also says that he and Rita will be "tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires." And, always one to keep things positive, the actor adds, "Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated.
