Fall back

With Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan choosing to spend the majority of their time outside the U.K., away from the safety of the Institution has long provided, the royals are keeping their palace doors open — on the off-chance the couple decide to return from North America."The palace [is] very worried about the Sussexes, because they are vulnerable outside the embrace of the family," a source close to the royal household told The Sunday Times. "They are making contingency plans in case the Sussexes suddenly turn round and say: 'Can we come back under your wing?'"It's only been a couple weeks but the paper reports that Prince Charles and Prince William are "reaching out" to see about a possibility of a return that is still in keeping with their goal of stepping back from royal duties.Other insiders believe that the backlash Harry and Meghan are facing, along with the intense media presence (their peaceful holiday is but a distant memory), might be enough for them rethink their decision."What is happening is that they are being told that there is love and affection on standby," said a source, adding that if they want privacy in the U.K., there are plenty of places the family can stay. "Everybody agrees that this is a fragile couple. Nobody is going to say, no they can't come back."The insider added: "They wouldn't return to royal duties, but they could have a period of rehabilitation and recuperation."Perhaps the BRF isn't giving the Sussexes enough credit. Their new life has barely begun; let's see what they can do before going into full crisis mode.

Gabrielle Union reacts to Terry Crews' positive comments about AGT

Last week during an interview with Today, Terry Crews called America's Got Talent "the most diverse place" he's ever been. Well, Gabrielle Union is calling BS.The Bring It On star took to Twitter to not only add on to supportive tweets directed at her, but also reveal, "Maaaaaan... We all agreed to let the investigation be completed before speaking but if we doing this... ohhhhh baby let's gooooooooooo!" Shortly after Union and Julianne Hough were let go from the show in November, reports surfaced of AGT's "toxic culture," and while Hough shared similar feelings with Crews about her experience, Union went the other way and it soon came out that the L.A.'s Finest star had issues and complaints that she took to higher-ups, and an investigation eventually begun between the network and show.In Crews' interview, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor pointed out that Union had yet to make a statement on her alleged firing."I believe you should listen to women, you should always believe women so I asked my wife what I should do," he told Today. "She was like, 'First of all, if it's coming from an unnamed source — because Gabrielle Union has not made any statement to this day about any of these allegations publicly. If she hasn't made a statement, why would you?’ And I said, you know what, I'm going to listen to her."

SNL star Bowen Yang revealed he went through gay conversion therapy

Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang, who has the esteemed honour of being the first Chinese-American cast member as well as one of the show's first openly gay comedians, had to come out twice to his parents. In an interview with the New York Times, explained how both experiences affected him and his family. The first time was when he was 17 and his parents read a chat he was having with someone in which he revealed he was gay."They just sat me down and yelled at me and said, 'We don't understand this. Where we come from, this doesn't happen,'" he recalled, adding that he had only seen his father cry once before, when his grandfather died. But to see him in a state of constant sobbing made Yang want to fix the situation. "This is the worst thing you can do as a child of immigrants. It's just like you don't want your parents to suffer this much over you."So when his dad told him he had arranged for Bowen to meet with a specialist for eight sessions, he agreed — and soon realized that the sessions was actually gay conversion therapy. Yang tried to keep an open mind, and admitted he actually liked the first few appointments, which were "talk therapy." But then things got "crazy," as they counselor tried to "explain the gay away with pseudoscience."Bowen eventually went off to college, where he had his "second coming out" with his parents — and they still couldn't accept it. But Yang stood his ground and said, "'This is sort of a fixed point, you guys. I can't really do anything about this. So either you meet me here or you don't meet me.'"They are still working on trying to understand his sexuality and Yang knows he "can't rush them." That being said, they haven't shut him out or turned him away. In fact, they were at his first show as an SNL regular last year to cheer him on and support him. Baby steps.

The "worst day" of Tinashe's life involves Kendall Jenner

Tinashe may have only dated Ben Simmons for two months but when she found out he had moved on with Kendall Jenner, she was devastated. The singer explained to Us Weekly that she found out about him rebounding with the model "in real time," which left her feeling "really depressed." Understandable."It may have been the worst day of my life, but it’s OK," she said of that May 2018 day. When asked if she drowned her sorrows, she replied, "I drank for, like, six months after that! Are you kidding me? I was, like, wasted for months. But I'm OK now. It was terrible. It was bad. Like, it was bad, but I'm good now."A couple months later, Tinashe took to Twitter to defend herself against trolls who claimed she was stalking Ken and Ben. Jenner and Simmons split a few months after but whatever is going on between them (neither have ever confirmed that they are, indeed, dating), it's back on. Kendall was spotted at one of his games in December and they were in NYC together a couple weeks back.

Avril Lavigne is dating indie rocker Pete Jonas

From Deryck Whibley to Brody Jenner to Chad Kroeger to a Jonas? Technically, yes, Avril Lavigne is in a new relationship — but her current boyfriend isn't from that branch of a Jonas family tree.Pete Jonas, who is of no relation (at least, that we know of), and Lavigne made their couple debut at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday.According to People, Jonas is part of the group Jagwar Twin, which opened for Lavigne during her Head Above Water Tour last fall. Avril and Pete's relationship comes on the heels of her November split from billionaire Phillip Sarofim, whom she dated for nearly two years. Nothing complicated about it. Best day(s) ever, actually.
