When Katy Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom announced their pregnancy earlier this year in Perry’s video for “Never Worn White,” well wishes from the couple’s fans and famous friends began pouring in. On August 27, the couple announced the birth of their daughter Daisy Bloom. Now little Daisy has received a beautiful keepsake from popstar Taylor Swift, who knows what to give the baby who has everything – a hand-embroidered blanket that’s worth millions simply because of who stitched it.Auntie Taylor sent the new parents a beautiful light pink silk blanket earlier this year and in true Taylor form, included a handwritten note. Although Perry only shared the first few lines of the letter, it’s clear that Swift picked the gift for Daisy because of its sentimental value. “Katy and Orlando, When I was a baby, my most prized possession was a tiny silk…” reads the letter. We assume the next word is ‘blanket,’ but we’re not the Grammy-winning writer. The blanket is decorated with three stars and the year ‘2020,’ as well as the words ‘Baby Bloom’ and a small red flower. According to Swift's letter, the gift was sent on May 3, which makes her decision to embroider a flower months before Perry and Bloom announced their daughter's name pretty spot on.“Miss Daisy adores her hand embroidered blankie from miss Taylor Swift. Hope it’s one she drags around for years till it becomes an unrecognizable shred that she keeps in her pocket as a teenager,” wrote Perry in the caption for the sweet Instagram post.
It’s unclear whether Swift’s crafting skills have been newly acquired during quarantine or were pre-existing, but one thing we do know is that if this whole international popstar thing doesn’t work out, she can definitely open up an Etsy store.Of course, Swift’s 2020 hasn’t just been about making handmade baby gifts. She’s also released her latest baby in the form of her seventh album, Folklore. Swift surprised fans on July 24 with the release of the new album, which included a feature from Bon Iver and the song “Betty,” which revealed the name of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s third daughter.Swift’s latest album also includes the song “The Last Great American Dynasty,” which tells the story of socialite Rebekah Harkness. Swift owns Harkness’ Rhode Island home, which was the location of the popstar’s famous Fourth of July parties. On September 11, a fan tweeted that Reynolds, Lively and Swift’s friend Jesse Tyler Ferguson should be cast in a film made about Harkness’ life. Ferguson was the first to sign on, with Reynolds not far behind. Swift quickly co-signed on the idea, as did Lively, who has helped Reynolds get into character by referencing a rumour that Harkness dyed either a cat or dog lime green. Seriously, this really should be a movie. On Sunday, the American Country Music Awards announced that Swift will be returning after a seven-year absence to perform her Folklore track “Betty” during the September 16 ceremony. Marking her first live performance of the song, Swift will take the stage at the iconic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Before making the shift from country to pop with her 2014 album 1989, Swift won eight ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
Keith Urban will host this year’s virtual ceremony, which will be filmed in various locations around Nashville and include performances by Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Trisha Yearwood, Old Dominion and Thomas Rhett with Jon Pardi, Dan and Shay, Florida Georgia Line and more. The 2020 ACM Awards will air Wednesday, September 16.[video_embed id='2001457']Before you go: Taylor Swift's new album 'Folklore' is already climbing the charts[/video_embed]
