Lady Stark, aka Sophie Turner, is not here for anyone trying to sweep the current Black Lives Matter movement and calls for social justice against systemic racism under the carpet. She let some outspoken fans know exactly where she stands recently, after they responded to pictures of her and Joe Jonas at a Los Angeles protest.Turner shared photos and videos from a rally on June 7, where antiracism protesters marched with signs and took a knee—a sign of protest against police brutality started by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Turner and husband Joe Jonas joined participated in the show of resistance with Turner carrying a sign reading, “WHITE SILENCE IS VIOLENCE,” prompting one fan to chime in with a controversial comment.

No justice, no peace #BlackLivesMatter

A post shared by Sophie Turner (@sophiet) on

“I mean they’ve been arrested and charged with murder so there’s justice, sooooo can we have peace now?” the person wrote in reference to the case of George Floyd who was killed at the hands of police. The charges against the officer who asphyxiated Floyd with his knee were increased on June 3 from third- to second-degree murder and the other three officers who witnessed the event were also charged. Sophie pointed out that while upping the charges is progress toward these specific officers facing consequences for their act of brutality, it's far from justice in a deeply rigged system.“This isn’t just about those 4 cops,” Turner shot back in a post that’s since been deleted (but not before fans captured a screenshot). “This is about Breonna Taylor, this is about Trayvon Martin, this is about Eric Garner, this is about the systemic racism that black people have faced for hundreds and hundreds of years,” she continued. “This is about changing the system. Justice will be done when society reflects our beliefs that we are all equal. Until then there should be no peace.”For the most part fans and friends seemed to support 24-year-old Turner for marching for what she believes in and practicing good ally-ship. “YEEEEEEES!! So proud of you babe. I know how hard it is to be out in the world right now and your courage speaks VOLUMES,” wrote actress Alexandra Shipp. “I am constantly in awe of your strength! Thank you for this, Queen, I love you an insane amount.” Others like Ryan Tedder, model Mallory Merk and even Joe Jonas responded with heart emojis.

Black Lives Matter. ❤️

Protesting isn’t the only way Turner has been sharing her support for the Black Lives Matter movement. She's also drawing attention to more cases of police brutality that may be overlooked. She urged fans to sign a petition in support of an investigation into the events surrounding Emerald Black who miscarried last year after San Leandro, California police reportedly brutalized her during a traffic stop when she and her fiancé were on the way home from a doctor's appointment. Black is currently bringing a case against the San Leandro police department for the death of her unborn baby and emotional stress.[video_embed id='1972306']RELATED: Amanda Brugel says it's important to address systemic racism and injustice publicly [/video_embed]“My heart is heavy. I stand in solidarity with those speaking out against racism and fighting for justice and equality,” Turner shared on June 2 in a separate post along with links to influential black leaders. “Silence is not an option. While my voice is not one that needs to be heard, I want to highlight some of those we should listen to.”Turner and Jonas aren’t the only celebrities hitting the streets in protest since George Floyd’s death. Jamie Foxx, Tessa Thompson, Nick Cannon, Kendrick Sampson, Keke Palmer, Halsey and more have been actively protesting and using their celebrity platforms to call for concrete systemic change. "You have to pay attention to what's going on," Palmer told the U.S. National Guard officers she came up against last week. "This is where you stand up and stand together with the community with society to stop the governmental oppression. Period... March with us. Be the change."[video_embed id='1970253']BEFORE YOU GO: Keke Palmer’s empowering talk with National Guard goes viral [/video_embed]
