Evangeline Lilly made headlines last week when she revealed that she and her family were not practicing physical distancing and were instead proceeding with "business as usual." The Ant-Man star was heavily criticized on social media and now fellow actress Sophie Turner has also spoken out about Lilly’s comments. In short, Sansa Stark is not here for it.On March 19, Lilly Instagrammed a picture of her tea cup and shared her plans for the day, which did not include remaining six feet away from other people. “Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual,” she wrote on Instagram. After many commenters questioned Lilly’s post, the actress wrote “I am also immune compromised at the moment. I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”Many of Lilly’s followers appalled at the actress’s controversial comments and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner appeared to be addressing Lilly’s post this weekend when she and husband Joe Jonas conducted an Instagram live session late Friday.[video_embed id='1925935']RELATED: Evangeline Lilly refuses to social distance and faces backlash[/video_embed]"Stay inside. Don’t be f***ing stupid. Even if you count your 'freedom over your health.' I don’t give a f*** about your freedom. You could be infecting other people, other vulnerable people around you by doing this. So stay inside guys!,” said Turner, adding “It’s not cool, it’s not big, and it’s not clever… And that’s the tea." All hail Queen of the Nawth. Lilly did reply to some of the comments on her page, adding that she also lives with her father, who is immunocompromised with Stage 4 Leukemia. Chalking up the worldwide pandemic that has already left thousands of people dead to a political issue, Lilly wrote “There’s ‘something’ every election year. Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu.”We’re pretty sure she means Martial Law, as in the government’s suspension of ordinary law, which could happen because people are continuing to operate with "business as usual" instead of staying home when they have the option to do so. Lilly spent six seasons on a deserted island so one would think she could spend a few weeks watching YouTube videos at home.
Lilly isn’t the first celebrity to make a controversial statement as the COVID-19 epidemic continues to develop and likely won’t be the last. Vanessa Hudgens went on Instagram to complain about the postponement of this year’s Coachella music festival, saying that people were going to die anyways, and later apologized and made a donation.Your move, Evangeline Lilly.[video_embed id='1916454']BEFORE YOU GO: Yes, there’s a right way you should be washing your hands[/video_embed]
