Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are continuing their friendly trolling at a time when we need moments of levity more than ever. Just this past weekend, Jackman attempted to dedicate a thoughtful and loving post to his beloved wife Deborra-Lee Furness, but Reynolds quickly swooped in to deliver one of his most understated and hilarious zingers yet.Jackman got sappy on Instagram, sharing a throwback picture of himself with wife Deb. Using the hashtag #24, Jackman wrote “These 24 years have been the best of my life! And, as far as I can see, we keep getting better. I love you Debs with every fiber of my soul. Happy anniversary.” So, sweet, right? We’d have to double -check, but according to Reynolds, the gift for 24 years is  a sick burn. The Canadian actor quickly commented on friend Jackman’s post, leaving the cheeky “Hang in there, Deb.” Well played. Josh Brolin also commented on Jackman’s post, with a very safe, very emoji-filled “Happy Anniversary!” Sure, that’s another way one could respond.
Jackman and Reynolds first worked together in 2009 on X-Men: Wolverine, where Reynolds made his debut as Deadpool’s Wade Wilson and Jackman continued showcasing his increasingly impressive abs and biceps. The two quickly became friends and have continued to use social media as a way to bring lighthearted trash talk to the masses, allowing their fans to enjoy their mutual teasing. In the past, Jackman has joked about Reynolds in concert and shared Reynolds’ movie posters edited with Jackman’s head on the Canadian actor’s body. As for Reynolds, he’s publicly bashed Jackman in interviews, enlisted Jackman’s crew to wear merch with Reynolds image on it, and shared Jackman’s phone number. May these two never run out of ammunition against one another.[video_embed id='1934897']RELATED: Hayley Wickenheiser and Ryan Reynolds lend support to pandemic relief[/video_embed]Jackman has yet to respond to Reynolds latest joke, but the Australian actor is likely at home in New York laughing at the comment. Jackman and his wife Deb have been sharing videos encouraging people to stay home if possible and practice physical distancing. The pair have been self-isolating in NYC, a city that has been ravaged by COVID-19. In addition to encouraging people to stay home, Hugh and Deb have also been thanking all the first responders and people helping to keep the country going, including delivery drivers, grocery store workers, and cleaners. On March 30, Jackman shared a video showing the arrival of the naval hospital ship the USNS Comfort into New York, applauding all the brave medical workers who are treating those suffering from COVID-19.

What an amazing sight! To all aboard the #usnscomfort, the #nystatepolice and all the doctors and nurses the world over ... THANK YOU.

When he’s not trolling Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively have also been doing their part to encourage others to stay home if possible. The couple have opened their wallets in order to help fight coronavirus and support those who have been impacted by the deadly virus. The couple split a $1 million donation between their two home countries, giving to both Feed America and Food Banks Canada, and donated even more cash to hospitals in New York City. Reynolds has also pledged 30 percent of the profits from his Aviation Gin to go towards bartenders who have been put out of work because of COVID-19 and made a virtual visit to Toronto’s Sick Kids hospital, bringing along his furry friend Detective Pikachu.[video_embed id='1936894']BEFORE YOU GO: Kelly Ripa gets tearful over the stress of physical distancing[/video_embed]
