The youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton is about to enter his terrific twos and the couple have shared photos of their not-so-little baby to mark the occasion. Just one day before his second birthday on April 23, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted new photos of Prince Louis and made it clear that he is still royally cute. The four new pictures posted on Wednesday show Prince Louis laughing and smiling while showing off his paint-covered hands. In the second picture, Louis’ handiwork is on display with a rainbow-coloured painting of his hand. How none of the paint is on Louis’ crisp button-down is proof that while the monarchy may be trying to make themselves more relatable, they’re still royal. No stains at all? No paint on the face or in the hair?
At only two-years-old, Louis already displays thick dark hair and a full set of baby teeth. The fifth in line to the British throne appears to take after this mother and big sister Charlotte, while older brother George and his fair hair and eyes makes him a mini-William. The trio were last seen together in a video shared by their parents on March 26. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis took part in the #ClapForNHS campaign, where people across the UK applauded members of the National Health Service.
The recent snaps of Prince Louis were taken by his mother while the family continues to isolate in Anmer Hall, the home that was given to the Duke and Duchess by the Queen after their 2011 wedding. The large home is part of the Norfolk Estate where the monarchy often retreats as a family, although all the immediate senior members of the royal family have been isolating separately. Queen Elizabeth, who recently celebrated her 94th birthday (no rainbow hand paint) and Prince Phillip have been staying in Windsor Castle. Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have been in Scotland at the monarchy’s Birkhall Home. Although they’re no longer senior members, Harry and Meghan are in Los Angeles. They are still Prince Louis’ aunt and uncle, so we’re sure gifts have been sent.[video_embed id='1943344']RELATED: Queen Elizabeth celebrates her 94th birthday[/video_embed]The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will likely take a break from their busy schedule of homeschooling and supporting their various charities to celebrate Louis’ birthday on April 23. The couple have been engaging with those on the frontlines during the COVID-19 global pandemic, reaching out to teachers and students through virtual visits. As the patron of the new National Emergencies Trust, Prince William has been helping to oversee the disbursement of more than £12.5 million in aid to local organizations, with a focus on child welfare, mental health and ensuring healthy meals are being provided to those who have been impacted by the coronavirus.Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess announced their official Royal Foundation support for Our Frontline. Aimed at helping people deal with the mental health repercussions of the ongoing pandemic, the 24-hour hotline will provide support through text messages and phone calls for frontline workers who are experiencing mental distress.
