Pregnant Katy Perry admits she's really missing alcohol right about now

We’re feeling pretty bad for Katy Perry today. Not only has the popstar been forced to postpone her wedding to Orlando Bloom (originally scheduled for this summer in Japan) but she also is going through her first pregnancy during lockdown, a time when any expectant parent would want to be surrounded by supportive family and friends. On top of that? She can’t drink (because, baby on board). What a time to be without rosé.In a Facebook Live video Perry made ahead of the most recent instalment of American Idol, the singer and host rocks a boho look, gives a musical shout out to The Little Mermaid, and talks about how she’s handling life under lockdown. Grateful that she’s able to work from home right now, Katy gave fans a rundown of how she’s been filling her time. It involves Lego, puzzles, and making up stories for her young nieces. It does not involve alcohol (but it does involve reminiscing, in detail, about the kind of alcohol she misses drinking: basically all of it).“I’m not complaining, but I can’t drink, because I’m pregnant,” she told fans. “Some of you already have a cocktail... or you have your favourite IPA, or your favourite rye whiskey, or your favourite white wine or rosé or whatever your favourite drink is. I mean, honestly, just Bud Light with a little lime. I’m very excited for the future when that can happen, which will be years, probably.” Someone get this woman a virgin pina colada, at the very least.Last month, Perry and Bloom revealed the gender of their baby on Instagram in perhaps the messiest and sweetest (literally) way possible — we’d expect nothing less from Katy. But the couple’s plans for about-to-have-a-baby traditions like showers and a babymoon are unlikely to happen before Perry’s due date this summer. “I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to do any of that,” said the singer. “I’m just taking it one day at a time. But I’ll be grateful. I mean, I’m grateful now, but there’s a lot going on.”At least Perry still has puzzles and baked goods to lean on.
