Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle played each other’s love interests (and eventual spouses) for more than 100 episodes on Suits, but as it turns out, Mike Ross and Rachel Zane no longer hang out in real life. And Adams is opening up about why.In a new interview, Adams revealed that he and Meg are cool and all, but he hasn’t really reached out to her since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry because… well, he doesn’t know what to say. “Quite frankly I think I’m intimidated,” he told the Radio Times. “I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her at any moment, but I don’t know what I would say.”

That’s not to say that the pair haven’t spoken at all since those royal nuptials. Adams added that they both got in touch briefly when they had their children. He reached out when Andrew was born, and Meghan reached out after Adams and his wife Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars) welcomed their daughter, Aurora.[video_embed id='1875629']RELATED: Patrick J. Adams was nervous about returning to 'Suits'[/video_embed]“After our children were born, there were some texts sent and gifts sent, but I guess I’m a little scared,” he said. “I think it’s pure fear. I guess I’m scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist to have that conversation.”

Naturally the outlet wasn’t the only one that asked Adams about his connection to Markle. As the Canadian actor continues promoting his upcoming Disney+ series The Right Stuff, press also asked him whether he’d been in contact with his former onscreen wife since she moved back to California. “I think she's pretty busy, but I am happy to have her back stateside,” he told Access Hollywood last week before addressing her efforts towards the upcoming American election.“[I’m] very, very happy that she's becoming very vocal and doing whatever she can to help the election in November,” he said, before adding, “I miss my friend, but I'm very happy she's doing well.”Well is one way to put it. Since returning to the States, Markle and Prince Harry have been plenty busy with high-profile speaking engagements, settling into their new home, and inking a deal with Netflix to produce a whole bunch of content—from docs and films to kid’s programming and TV shows. If anything, the U.S. of A. looks pretty good on the couple.Meanwhile, Adams has also been busy since his time on Suits. When he left the show at the end of season seven he was pursuing more directing and photography gigs. In The Right Stuff, which is an adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s book of the same name, he plays legendary NASA astronaut John Glenn. That series debuts on the streaming service October 9.[video_embed id='2040501']Before you go: Meghan Markle has been cold-calling Americans encouraging them to vote[/video_embed]
