The honeymoon is over for actor and activist Pamela Anderson and movie mogul Jon Peters. The couple were quietly married in a private ceremony in Malibu on January 20, but now only 12 days later have announced they are going their separate ways.Anderson and Peters said ‘I do’ in front of close friends and family members, which included Anderson’s two sons and Peters' three daughters. A source close to the pair reports that the wedding certificate was never officially filed, which could make this one of Hollywood’s easiest separations. The couple had only recently reconciled after dating more than 30 years ago when Anderson first moved to Los Angeles from Canada. Anderson and Peters met at a party at the Playboy Mansion in the mid 1980s and by then Peters had made a name for himself as a producer on Flashdance, The Witches and Eastwick and Batman. Peters reportedly advised Anderson against posing for the cover of Playboy, believing it would limit her career as a professional actor, but Anderson disagreed and went on to cover the magazine 13 times after which she landed a role on the hit show, Baywatch.

Anderson made a statement to The Hollywood Reporter about the pair’s split, saying they had "mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process but hinting that there may still be a future for the couple, asking for "support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another. Life is a journey and love is a process. Thank you for respecting our privacy."Things appeared to be all good between the couple following their intimate wedding ceremony. Peters spoke to THR about his new bride, saying “Pamela has never seen her full potential as an artist. She has yet to shine in a real way. There is much more to her than meets the eye, or I wouldn’t love her so much.” Adding in a #humblebrag only moments after becoming a married man, Peters continued, saying “There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but—for 35 years—I’ve only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild—in a good way. She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.”[video_embed id='1881174']RELATED: Pam Anderson secretly weds Jon Peters[/video_embed]This marriage was the fifth for both Anderson and Peters. Anderson married Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in 1995 only four days after meeting him. The couple welcomed two sons, Brandon in 1996 and Dylan in 1997. By 1998, the couple were divorced following Lee’s six-month incarceration for spousal abuse. Anderson married on-again off-again boyfriend Kid Rock in July 2006 and the pair split only months later in November. In 2007, Anderson married Rick Salomon and split from the film producer one year later, citing financial fraud. The pair reconnected and remarried in 2014, divorcing one year later.Anderson’s most recent relationship prior to Peters was with professional footballer Adil Rami.
