Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis split

One of your favourite Hollywood couples has called it quits. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have ended their engagement after seven years, putting an end to their nearly 10-year relationship.The news broke over the weekend, when People learned from a source that the pair actually split up a while ago but have been quiet about the break in order to make their kids, Otis, 6 and Josephine, 4, their first priority. “The split happened at the beginning of the year," a source told the publication. “It's been amicable and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship.”While neither Sudeikis nor Wilde have confirmed or opened up about their new status at time of press, Wilde shared a photo of her kids on her Instagram stories shortly after the news broke. “My everythings,” she captioned the snap, in which the masked children are standing at a fence at what looks like a horse ranch. Sure enough in the next story Wilde shared a selfie with a horse and included a simple red heart emoji.According to Us Weekly the 36-year-old actor and director was also photographed outside of the Los Angeles stable over the weekend, and her engagement ring was notably missing from her finger. The publication also reports that the last time Sudeikis and Wilde were spotted together was this past September, when they were seen hanging out at the beach in Malibu.Sudeikis, 45, and Wilde first began dating in November 2011 when they met at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. They didn’t date right away, but when they kept running into each other over the next six months Sudeikis finally asked her out. “[One night], my best guy friend walked up to him and said, ‘This is Olivia’s number. Use it.’ That was the beginning,” Wilde recalled in a 2013 interview with Allure.The couple became engaged in 2012 and although they never officially tied the knot they consistently told press that they were committed and connected to each other, especially after the birth of Otis. In 2016 Sudeikis even joked to Andy Cohen that he and Wilde wouldn’t get hitched until “weed is legal in every state.”While there’s no official word on why the pair split, they—like so many other people in the world—have had a big year full of changes. Late last year they moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, and they have both been fairly busy with work since then. In addition to filming several projects Wilde is also working on directing the star-studded film Don’t Worry Darling, and she snagged a directing gig on a top-secret untitled Sony and Marvel project that many believe will be Spider-Woman.For his part Sudeikis has been filming a couple of movies, and is also coming off the first, joy-sparking season of Ted Lasso, a.k.a. the critically acclaimed TV series that follows an American football coach who moves to the UK to manage a struggling London soccer team.
