Naya Rivera's family speaks out after 'Glee' star's death

Naya Rivera's family has broken their silence following the actress' tragic death at Lake Piru, in southern California. In a statement given to Deadline July 14th, via Rivera’s manager Gladys Gonzalez, the Rivera family is choosing to celebrate the public figure's "magnetic spirit." "We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family over the past week," the statement begins. "While we grieve the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honor her everlasting legacy and magnetic spirit. Naya was an amazing talent, but was an even greater person, mother, daughter and sister."They also wished to thank everyone involved in finding Naya, after she was reported missing July 8th. Her family continued, "We extend endless gratitude and ovation to the heroine who found her. Rivera was reported missing when other boaters on the lake found Josey sleeping alone in the rented boat. Her son told authorities she jumped in the water but never resurfaced and Sheriff’s Department Capt. Eric Buschow told the media July 9 that the working theory was that the actress possibly drowned, classifying the search as a recovery. Officials have confirmed Josey is safe and in good health.After days of searching the reservoir where Rivera went missing, the Sheriff’s Department expanded the search to the surrounding area and a body was recovered from the lake the morning of July 13th.
