Michelle Obama wished Barack a happy birthday with a sweet Instagram post

Since leaving the White House, Michelle and Barack Obama are living their best lives. Whether it’s launching a podcast where they talk about how they fell in love (dang, are they the cutest?) and writing books, to releasing documentaries or just having fun on holiday, these empty-nesters are always showing us what true love and partnership is all about. Today is no different, as it is Barack’s 59^th birthday, and his wife of 27 years celebrated the milestone with the cutest Instagram post possible.Posting a throwback photo, where we see a young Barack and Michelle holding their two young daughters, Malia and Sasha, while they were on holiday in an undisclosed sunny location, the former FLOTUS captioned the pic, “Happy birthday to my favourite guy. Here's to all the good days, blue skies, and new adventures to come.”

Michelle also shared the sweet pic on her official Twitter account. Last year on their 27^th wedding anniversary, both of them sent each other sweet notes on social media. Barack posted a pic of them watching the sunset on safari, captioning it, “Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!” There’s a lot to love about this photo, not the least of which is realizing that Barack is the little spoon.

Michelle also sent her hubby a happy anniversary tweet, accompanied by a picture of them laughing on a seaside balcony. “27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next—while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack.”

Let’s not forget when the former President of the USA left the White House, he gave an emotional thank you speech to Michelle that had us all (including him) wiping away tears.
