Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are marking son Archie’s birthday by releasing the first video of the baby seen in months, and helping to raise money for charity in the process. Little Archie turns the big O-N-E on May 6 and the doting parents have released a video proving that even babies who are sixth in line to the English throne are still difficult to read to.Meghan and Harry shared the sweet and very relatable struggle to read Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s 2009 book “Duck! Rabbit!” to their one-year-old son, who like most babies just wanted to turn the page and get to the next book. Spoiler alert, we want to see if it’s actually a duck or rabbit. Dad Harry acted as the camera operator and can be heard giggling and providing additional quack sound effects throughout the story. The video was filmed in support of the UK’s Save The Children and their Save With Stories initiative, which was created by actors Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams in March and features celebrities reading children’s stories in an effort to quickly raise funds to help support children who have been negatively impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"Duck! Rabbit! with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex (and Harry, The Duke of Sussex behind the camera), read to their son Archie for his 1st birthday. Happy Birthday, Archie!,” wrote Save The Children in the caption for the video. “As the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, children’s lives are being turned upside down. By donating to Save with Stories, you can support the most vulnerable families in the UK and around the world by helping to provide early learning packs, supermarket vouchers, essential household items and virus protection.”The new video is the first glimpse of baby Archie that the world has seen in months, a sign that the family’s move out of the UK may be providing them with the privacy they were hoping for in California. Or, it’s a global pandemic and no one is going out. The now not-so-little baby looks happy, healthy and cuter than ever in his white onesie. Smiling and playing throughout the video, it appears as though Archie’s once-red locks are now darkening. He’s still a mini-me of dad Harry, but we can see a bit more of mom now.Archie’s birthday is being celebrated across the pond by his royal relatives. Kensington Palace, the official page for Prince William and Kate Middleton, shared a photo from Archie’s christening and wished the one-year-old a happy birthday. The Clarence House social media page also shared a photo from the christening, featuring three generations, including Prince Charles, Harry and Archie. Archie’s great-grandparents also got in on the birthday celebration. The royal family posted a photo of Harry and Meghan along with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip only days after Archie was born, when new mom Meghan broke with tradition and dared to act like a woman who had just delivered a baby. The caption notes that Archie is the eighth great-grandchild to the Queen, which is a nice way of saying that the family is still a unit regardless of Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down from their duties.
Meghan and Archie join a long list of celebrities who have contributed their own favourite story and video to the Save with Stories initiative. Kelly Clarkson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pratt, Jeff Bridges, Eva Longoria, Laura Dern, Margot Robbie and many more have also shared their time and books of choice to help keep kids entertained during quarantine.[video_embed id='1952168']Before you go: The Royal tell-all is confirmed[/video_embed]
