Megan Thee Stallion made her first Instagram Live appearance on Monday following a terrifying experience earlier this month. The rapper, real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, was shot in both feet on July 12. Appearing on IG Live for the first time since the shooting, Megan talks about the scary event and reveals that the bullets miraculously missed hitting areas that could have caused catastrophic injuries.“I was shot in both of my feet, and I had to get surgery to get the bullets taken out, and it was super scary,” said Megan during Monday’s Instagram Live appearance. "It was just the worst experience of my life, and it's not funny. It's nothing to joke about and it's nothing for y'all to go and be making fake stories about.” The shooting took place following a party at Kylie Jenner’s house. Megan and Kylie appeared together in an Instagram Live late Saturday night on July 11. Lanez can also be seen in the video. Police were called hours later after shots were fired a few miles from Jenner’s home. “I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot. Thank god the bullets didn’t touch bones, they didn’t break tendons,” said Megan, who credited her late family members, including her mother and grandmother, with protecting her.Megan’s mother Holly Thomas acted as her daughter’s manager before dying from a cancerous brain tumor in March 2019. Megan’s mother and grandmother died within a month of each other. “I know my mama and my daddy, my granny had to be looking out for me with that one because where the bullets hit at, it missed everything,” said Megan, who later in the day shared a selfie with the caption ‘Unbreakable’.The shooter has yet to be identified, but Megan said on Monday that hiding the person’s identity is not her intention. “It’s not that I was protecting anybody, I just wasn’t ready to speak. That’s not s*** you immediately get on the internet and start talking about.”Following the shooting, Megan released a statement on July 15 and clarified false information about the event. “I’d like to set the record straight. On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” wrote Megan on Instagram. “I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery. But it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”Police responded to a noise complaint around 4:30 a.m. on July 12 in the Hollywood Hills. Witnesses say a group of people were arguing in an SUV before driving off. Police caught up to the vehicle and found Megan, who had been shot. Police also arrested Canadian rapper Tory Lanez after finding a concealed weapon. Lanez was released after posting bail and has yet to be charged. A third unidentified woman was also in the SUV.Initial reports cited that Megan had injured her feet by stepping on broken glass. Lanez has yet to make any statement on the matter.[video_embed id='1991285']BEFORE YOU GO: Tom Hanks has a blunt message for people who don't wear a mask[/video_embed]
