Megan Thee Stallion is once again opening up about her traumatic experience on July 12, when she was shot in both feet. Only this time she’s identifying the shooter: Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. In an Instagram Live video posted on August 20, Meg not only confirmed the speculation that it was Lanez who shot her, but she also explained why she has held her silence until now. “Yes this n---a Tory shot me,” Megan says in the video. “You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying. Why lie?” The “WAP” collaborator then explained there were four people in the SUV early that morning outside of a house party when a fight broke out. She alleges that Lanez shot her from the vehicle after she got out to give herself some space. “The police come—I’m scared,” she recalled. “All this shit goin’ on with the police? Police is shootin’ motherf---ers for anything. The police was literally killin’ Black people for no motherf---in’ reason. Soon as the police tell us all get out the motherf---in’ car, the police is really aggressive. You think I’m ‘bout to tell the police that we, n---as, us Black people, got a gun in the car? You want me to tell the law we got a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us up?” Following the shooting, Lanez was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon but at time of press he has not been charged with any crimes, nor has he responded to the allegations. (The 28-year-old has not posted new content to his social media accounts since July 11.)Previously, Megan credited police officers with driving her to the hospital, where she underwent surgery to remove the bullets. “I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night,” she added on Instagram July 15, after false reports that she was arrested surfaced. “I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”Since the shooting, Megan has had to defend herself from those treating the incident as a joke or questioning the authenticity of her story. Earlier this week, she posted two graphic photos of her injuries on social media before taking them down. "I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot, I was walking away facing the back," she added to her post. "Why would I lie about getting shot? Why are y'all so upset that I don't want to be in the bed sad? Why y'all upset that I can walk?"She then continued, "I got my stitches out my feet like two weeks ago, and I was ready to go celebrate "WAP" going number one. I usually don't address internet bulls--t, but y'all people are so sick! God was really watching over me, and I'm healing so well! Sorry, I'm not ass sad and miserable as a lot of y'all lol, but ima keep being Megan Mf Thee Stallion.”The 25-year-old also opened up about the incident during a Variety interview recently, where she was profiled for the 2020 Power of Young Hollywood Issue. “I’m not the type of person who can stay down for a long time,” she said. “I don’t like to be sad or keep myself in a dark place, because I know it could be the worst thing happening, but the pain and the bad things don’t last for long.”[video_embed id='2017792']BEFORE YOU GO: Video shows Masai Ujiri getting shoved[/video_embed]
