Madonna’s chronicling of an insanely wealthy person’s experience of the coronavirus pandemic and resulting lockdown continues with a new post from the singer in which she declares herself to be the proud host of COVID-19 antibodies. Coming hot on the heels of her ‘hairbrush singalong’ post and her ‘bathtub full of rose petals’ post (stars, they’re exactly like us), Madge has shared another update — part of her ‘sitting at a vintage typewriter and reading aloud to her followers’ series. After setting her first draft on fire (have we
learned nothing from Britney?), Madonna types up a second version of her 14th Quarantine Diary in which she shares the antibody gospel and what she plans to do with her newfound super power. "I took a test the other day, and I found out that I have the antibodies," she reads, "So tomorrow I'm just going to go for a long drive in the car, I'm going to roll down the window and I'm going to breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining."[video_embed id='1893502']RELATED: Madonna called Canada boring and Canadians aren’t impressed[/video_embed]
And while the CDC is unwilling to confirm that the presence of COVID-19 antibodies is actually an indicator of virus immunity (right now, all they’ll say is that antibodies prove that you have had COVID-19 or a very similar visus), it’s more than a little frustrating to know that celebrities can simply dial up a high-priced doctor and get a test on demand. Especially when the testing kits, which are in short supply, can’t always be accessed by the people who truly need them (think: frontline workers, carers, and patients with actual coronavirus symptoms).Madonna has been involved in COVID-related projects to donate masks to prison inmates, is auctioning off an autographed tour costume for Leonardo DiCaprio’s celebrity #AllIn challenge, and has joined the Gates Foundation in their efforts to find a cure or vaccine for the virus. In a recent message posted to her website
Madonna wrote, "I send enormous gratitude and strength to the courageous first responders, medical professionals and scientists who are protecting our communities, those suffering and our most vulnerable."Perhaps the pop star will consider sending them some tests, too. We hear she has a connection.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Grandson makes TikTok video with grandma even while physical distancing[/video_embed]
