Lindsay Lohan had one of the most promising film careers of the early 2000s, but the child star was thrust into the spotlight at a time when paparazzi and the internet had intersected to form a black hole of celebrity culture that constantly demanded increasingly invasive measures to capture content. Lohan’s personal life was rewritten and published for the masses, eventually causing the singer and actor to retreat all the way to the Middle East, where she’s been living for the past few years. In a new interview with Andy Cohen on the talk show host’s Sirius XM radio show, Lohan was asked what her advice is for LA’s newest residents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who left the royal family to escape the tabloids. Number one, don’t move to LA.Having firsthand knowledge of being a celebrity in California, Cohen looked to Lohan for her thoughts on the Duke and Duchess’ recent move. "I mean unless they own another, a different private beach, right?"
said Lohan. "You can't go to those beaches without being—you can't even surf out far enough."The
Freaky Friday star agreed that even simple tasks like picking up groceries can be an opportunity for paparazzi to snap front-page pictures. "It's just really hard to do anything publicly there," said Lohan, who did note that the pair have chosen a smart time to make their move. "The timing right now luckily is everyone is more at home," said Lohan. "But, once that's over, just get drivers."Meghan and Harry made the announcement that they were leaving the royal family in January and settled into a rental home on Vancouver Island. After only a few months in Canada, the couple decided to relocate once again, this time to Markle’s hometown. The philanthropic pair have already been doing their part to help their new neighbours during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been volunteering with a local charity to deliver
meals to those in need. Harry and Meghan are currently engaged in a
lawsuit with the Associated Newspapers, who own four of the biggest tabloids in the UK. Here’s hoping the US press is kinder to the pair.As for Lohan, the popstar recently returned to music and released “
Back To Me,” her first single in 12 years. The new song is Lohan testing the waters as she prepares to re-enter the entertainment business and move back to the US. “I think I’ve had a really long time of figuring out what I wanted to do first,” said Lohan, adding that being able to record in Dubai where she’s currently living has helped. “I’m slowly integrating myself back into the industry and music felt more comfortable for me.”Lohan’s music plans have been put on hold because of the pandemic, leaving the actor time to binge shows like
Killing Eve, Little Fires Everywhere and
Defending Jacob. Lohan has also been using time at home to help move along the sequel that she and the rest of the world have been waiting 15 years to see.
Mean Girls 2, we are ready.“I think there definitely is momentum towards it,” said Lohan on the
long-rumoured sequel. “I’m actually trying to get on a call in the next week or two with Tina [Fey] and Mark Waters and Lacey [Chabert]. I’m close with a lot of the other cast, so just to get us all on a call together and just see where everyone’s at and Lorne Michaels and the powers that be, just to see what everyone is thinking,” continued Lohan. “That would be my dream, to come back and film a sequel to
Mean Girls.” So fetch.[video_embed id='1942719']RELATED: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sever ties with U.K. tabloids[/video_embed]
