Lil Nas X crashing a wedding is our new favourite thing

Something new, something blue, something borrowed... and something old town road. One bride checked off all the wedding traditions and some bonus ones after saying ‘I do’ this past weekend thanks to a surprise appearance from rapper Lil Nas X. Yes, he wore all white for the event and yes, he’s one of the few people we would be okay with upstaging us at our own wedding.Not only did the bride get to celebrate her marriage at Disney World like a true-life princess (ugh, so jeally), but she also got a celebrity cameo from Grammy-winner, record-breaker, and Old Time Roader Lil Nas X. In a video posted to Lil Nax X’s Twitter account, the bride ditches the traditional groom-bride entrance (so 2019) and instead makes her way into the venue with Lil Nas X. “Old Town Road” acts as the soundtrack to the pair’s shocking reveal, because TBH what else would they play in this very surreal moment? Just as you would hope when meeting your heroes, Lil Nas X wore a bedazzle cowboy hat. It’s so refreshing when celebrities look the way you actually think they will.The bride’s friends and family appear to be shocked by the last-minute change in the lineup, with one wedding goer starring into the camera and she screams “What the f**k is happening?” What’s happening is that your expensive and thoughtful slow cooker gift just got majorly upstaged.

The rapper posted the video with almost no context. Was this pre-planned? Are Lil Nas X and the bride old friends or did they meet in line at the Small World ride? Is Lil Nas X an add-on when getting married at Disney World, like choosing whether to have the wedding officiated by Mickey Mouse or Goofy (obviously pick Goofy)? Did Lil Nas X get the fish or chicken meal? And where is the groom/other bride?Of course, Lil Nas X isn’t the only celebrity to crash a wedding. Hollywood’s most famous nice guy Tom Hanks lived up to his status when he crashed the photo session for a bride and groom who were getting their pictures taken in New York’s Central Park. No word on how close they were to the garden where Joe Fox and Brinkley met Kathleen Kelly and told Shop Girl to not cry, but it was still pretty incredible and romantic, wherever they were.
