Kumail Nanjiani and wife Emily V. Gordon launch 'Staying In' podcast

Proceeds from the pod will go to charities working on the coronavirus outbreak.

While much of the world self-isolates and finds different ways to stay creatively satisfied and connected amid the coronavirus outbreak, Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon are doing their part to help people pass the time. The husband and wife duo took to Instagram to announce their new limited podcast series, aptly-titled Staying in with Emily and Kumail. It was created in an effort to “benefit those who are suffering from this current weird quarantine moment.”The Oscar-nominated couple will use their platform to offer tips on how to remain sane while giving recommendations on what TV shows, movies and video games to help people get through this crisis, and proceeds from the podcast will go towards charities dedicated to the coronavirus outbreak.[video_embed id='1888984']RELATED: Kumail Nanjiani shares advice for fellow 'Marvel' newcomer Simu Liu[/video_embed]The couple won’t specifically talk about COVID-19 but will instead share their experiences with self-isolating in the past and having to work from home. Gordon suffers from Still’s disease, a rare type of inflammatory arthritis, which requires her to stay indoors for long periods of time and which inspired their 2017 hit romantic comedy, The Big Sick.
In the Instagram post, taken before Kumail started his physical transformation for the MCU flick Eternals, the couple is on their couch cuddling with their cat while saying that all proceeds from their new venture will go to charities associated with the coronavirus outbreak.In the first episode, titled “Fumbling for Normalcy” they talk about how life has dramatically changed for them over the past couple of weeks.Kumail and Emily aren’t the only celebrities doing their part. Kevin Bacon recently launched his six degrees campaign to encourage his fans to share who they are staying home for and tag six other people to do the same. Earlier this week, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a video on social media urging his fans to self-isolate.
