Keke Palmer is sharing her makeup tips with her 10.1 million followers on Instagram and showing them how she "camouflages" her acne scars to achieve a full-coverage look. The Star actress called it her "Extreme ACNE: MAKEUP COVERAGE" tutorial and warned people that they "will get blocked telling me how to manage my skin."

The Hustlers star revealed last week that she suffers from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and wanted to help others by opening up about it. Keke helped out even more on Sunday by sharing her tutorial and all of the products she uses to help achieve her flawless look.

In her caption, she let the viewers know that she's not asking for any unsolicited advice or help, adding that you cannot cure "acne over the internet." The 27-year-old singer told other people suffering from acne to ignore "the misguided comments suggesting things for you" because many people are just trying to sell products in her comment section. Keke also suggested that people do their research and don't let others take advantage of your condition on Instagram.

"Ever since I have shown my acne scars and just my struggle with acne I saw a lot of people in my comments following that post because people was looking at my makeup coverage and how I was able to kind of camouflage and hide my scars," she says in her video. "I feel so touched. I've been dealing with acne and struggling with makeup and trying to cover it and all that stuff for a really long time. I don't think there's any shame in it because you have to make it do what you gotta make it do.

"The "Bossy" singer shares her secrets behind her full-coverage look, using Aquaphor and Caudalie Beauty Elixir to prep. During her tutorial, she also reveals that she's been changing her diet, and she got in contact with the family of late Honduran herbalist Dr. Sebi and started doing his alkaline diet, which focuses on consuming alkaline-promoting foods like fruits, vegetables, soybeans, tofu, seeds and legumes and cuts out foods that fall on the acid level like dairy, eggs, meat, most grains, and processed foods.

Keke starts with the MAC Studio Fix Correction Palette and uses the orange colour for what she calls "the cancel out method." While applying the orange colour over her scars, the actress explains that she started to get into makeup when she was doing Cinderella on Broadway. "It was just so much fun, and those memories are fun to me when it comes to makeup," Keke shares. "Sometimes, makeup can bring negative memories up because when you're trying to always hide acne scars and texture. It kind of can get to the point where you just don't even want to do it anymore. It can be hard and difficult, so that makes me think about the fun times."

She takes a light coloured NARS concealer and goes overtop the orange spots to use it as spot correction. "I really encourage everybody watching this to do it your way," she says. "Everybody's skin is different, and I'm not here to tell somebody this is the way, and this is the wrong way. That ain't what we do here in my comments on the Keke page, OK? On the Keke page, we let people do them."

Keke then mixes another NARS concealer and applies her foundation. She tells her followers that makeup artists would make her look like she was three different shades at once in her movies when she was younger. "If I had a bunch of acne, they would make me whatever colour of the acne. It would suck because I'm like you changing me up, and I'm looking crazy, and it's like I didn't know how to help myself," Keke says.

She vocalizes that the whole makeup process is really just trial and error before sharing a funny story about the time she went to P. Diddy and Kim Porter's twins' birthday party with their brother Quincy Brown. "When I was about 16, Quincy invited me to his house for the twins' birthday, and I was so excited," she begins. "My parents didn't let me have a boyfriend until I was 16, so I was like 'oh my gosh, he invited me somewhere maybe he's about to be my boyfriend.' But I had so much acne on my face, and the funny thing is me and Quincy related so much growing up because we both really struggled with acne." Keke says that she began her makeup three hours before he was going to pick her up, but when he got there, her face was orange. "I couldn't be motherf--ing late and orange. I got to choose a struggle. So I said I'm going to be orange today," she says.

Nearing the end of her tutorial, Keke gives her followers an empowering message. "Whether I have a full face of makeup on or not, I can show myself and feel proud of myself, and I don't feel like I don't deserve to be there," she says. "We're talking about makeup. We're talking about camouflage; we're talking about trying to be our best selves and, at the end of the day, your best self is you being authentically you. That's the strongest thing you can be."

PCOS is caused by an imbalance of reproductive hormones and is linked to infertility, obesity and depression. In Canada, it's estimated that 1.4 million women may be affected by it. In addition to acne, other PCOS symptoms can include darkening of the skin, hair growth on the face or chin, irregular menstrual cycles, among other things. When Keke opens up and shares her PCOS journey with her fans, it helps and empowers others who might be experiencing the same thing.
