After a public falling out over the summer and much social media scrutiny, Keke Palmer has filed a restraining order against ex-boyfriend and father of her son Darius Jackson.

Us Weekly is reporting the actress is requesting sole custody of the couple's son Leodis, and included detailed allegations of multiple instances of physical abuse from their two years together.

The outlet reports Keke has CCTV security footage of one such incident, writing that Jackson “trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent” and “threatened” her before “lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone.”

She continued in the documents, alleging that there were “many instances of physical violence" from Jackson such as “destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting [me] in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.”

Since the news broke, Jackson has posted a picture of himself with his son, writing, “I love you, son. See you soon.”

This comes after a series of incidents this year where Jackson seemingly publicly denigrated the mother of his children over her choice to dress herself as she sees fit.

On July 4, Keke was seen attending an Usher concert in a bodysuit and sheer dress, to which Jackson responded publicly in a now-deleted post on X where he wrote, “It's the outfit tho.. you a mom,” according to E! Online.

He later doubled down on his stance, posting, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he wrote before deleting his account. “This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”

That sparked a social media backlash, with many bashing Jackson for attempting to control and police his partner’s fashion choices with subtly sexist language.

By September, breakup rumours abounded, but Keke told The Today Show to “mind ya’ll business,” when it came to her relationship with Jackson.

She said, per Teen Vogue, “Not y'all trying to get into it! They trying it on The Today Show,” and then later added when pressed, “I'm not trying to be specific. I'm going to take a page out of my girl Beyoncé's book: Mind y'all's business."

Since the news of Keke's filing broke, many have posted in solidarity with the multihyphenate and extended support and love to anyone who may be triggered by the news.
