But have she and the Carnival Row hunk used all their free time to come up with a name for their soon-to-be bundle of joy?“We have yet to decide specifically because I think we’ve got options and she’ll tell us,” Katy said via video chat. “I’ll look at her and go, ‘Oh yeah, yeah, you are her. You are that.’”Seeing as how she also hasn’t named her album yet, which is set to drop August 14th, this sounds about right. “I’m gonna have a child, I’m gonna have a record, I don’t know which one is coming first,” Katy laughed. “We’ll see!”But the wave of emotions she’s experiencing because of the pandemic, and the roller coaster her life has been over the past two years, have found expression in her new album, and she sings about that confluence of themes on the record. “It’s about finding my smile again and coming out of the darkest time of my life where I was clinically depressed,” she told Karsen and Kennedy. “I was on medication. I was in bed; I couldn’t get out of bed. I didn’t know if I was gonna live to see the next day. And all the while I had to put on a happy face and play that part as you do. I got through it, and I really did, and I got through it with my family, with Orlando, with other support, with therapists and doing some deep diving emotionally on some stuff I had been through.”“I went through a super journey the last two years and that’s what this record is about. And so, it’s a wonderful touchstone to me.”[video_embed id='1983390']Before you go: Reese Witherspoon and Regina King have virtual ‘Legally Blonde 2’ reunion[/video_embed]? @katyperry is ready to release a baby girl and a new record into the world in 2020!
